I was just thinking...

To all you wise DCF'ers,

I was thinking (and yes, it hurt)... is there something like a "time limit" within which the Consulates have to process our cases? I know different Consulates have different wait periods (green of envy towards London & Frankfurt, must admit); but is there such a thing as "out of time"? Or can they just make you wait until the cows go home?????? :clock::clock::clock::clock:

Wisdom, anyone?????

Peace, L.

I'm under the impression that the cows will come home first simply because I called them and said I would soon be beyond the expiration of the NOA 2 and they said not to worry as we would be given a 4 month extension on the day of the interview.

I'm one to think that they have their own agenda, I also wish the interviews were even though not really possible counted down from the date the petitions were filed and not the date the checklist was returned. I lost 3 month because of the RCMP check that was done, which came back no offenses. Had it not been for the RCMP and the medical which is still on-going I would possibly be weeks and not months from an interview.

I hope you here somethig from them very soon.

Len and Bren, that's no fun when you already tell us it hurt.

I really hope you guys get ahead of me on the interview. You've been waiting so long. This is just wrong.

Ron/Sharon, you all keep making me hope you guys get one soon, I'll never get mine :crying: Even if they went by the timeline of Montreal recieving the package from NVC, that would make sense too.

I lost 3 month because of the RCMP check that was done, which came back no offenses.

This brings up an interesting point actually. When I started our application a few months ago I was looking at the security clearance issue as I wanted to get it taken care of before we needed it.

So I wasn't sure whether my Husband needed the RCMP fingerprint etc clearance, or one from the Calgary Police Service which is done on name only (but is Canada wide).

I emailed Montreal, their reply was:

"Good morning,

The “Name check” version is acceptable. Fingerprints aren’t required.

Thank you"

Do most of you have the RCMP fingerprint version?

Dear Tinker, have no fear, you will have your day before I see mine. I still have medical tests to do to prove that I have not been drinking alcohol for over 20 years just because I answered that I was a heavy drinker previously by quite before my daughter was born 21 years ago, I must have looked as if I were lying.

Well Trailmix, first of all only people with criminal records should have the fingerprint check done.

I deserved what I got, I had the fingerprints done because over 30 years ago I pled guilty taking a vehicle with intent to drive, what happened was I borrowed a friends vehicle and had an accident and knowing that I would get a suspended sentence I pled guilty and he had no problem with the insurance. The reason I have no criminal record is I got a pardon. The forms indicate that pardoned offences must be disclosed. I just wish that I wasn't penalized for the time it took the RCMP or Doctor to do their thing.
