Good morning everyone, I have a question regarding expending i130 for my wife. It's been 7 months but no action taken and the case is at Potomac service center. I'm a US citizen and a frontline worker and now I'm at the point where it's not easy for me managing between jobs and taking care of home stuff. Was wondering if there is a way to expedite or transferring case. I would really appreciate the help. Thanks

You cannot transfer a case between service centers.  USCIS  transfers cases to balance their workload if they see a need.  There are valid reasons to request an expedite.  You are free to request, although I'm not sure how your case would fit.  Good luck.

USCIS may consider an expedite request if it meets one or more of the following criteria:

  • Severe financial loss to a company or person, provided that the need for urgent action is not the result of the petitioner’s or applicant’s failure to:
    1. File the benefit request or the expedite request in a reasonable time frame, or
    2. Respond to any requests for additional evidence in a reasonably timely manner;
  • Urgent humanitarian reasons;
  • Compelling U.S. government interests (such as urgent cases for the Department of Defense or DHS, or other public safety or national security interests); or
  • Clear USCIS error.
