Disclaimer: I am just venting and I appoligize now if I say something that may offend you.

I have been reading these forms and here people complain on how long things are taking, I can't get any answers etc..........then when they do get word that an interview is coming up in a week or so then complain that they dont have enought time to get the paperwork together, I can't get off work to attend the interview...blah blah blah, then want to rescedule the interview for their convience then they will be complaing on why is it taking so long. errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I just amazes me on the thought pattern of some people.

If you were at the stage where you KNEW a visa appointment could be coming up wouldn't you have already started gathering up stuff and getting the documents started especially if it invovled another country?

Okay done venting, I am going back to my corner and wait like a good little girl.:innocent:

I read that too, and I hear ya. I didnt reply, but all I could think was....can someone from that embassy show Jordan how to do that?

Its unthinkable but I toy with the thought..."Hi is this Hatem? Sorry about the short notice, but something opened up this Saturday so we penciled you in. can you bring your passport?"

We've been pretty prepared throughout the process, and still very stressed that we may have forgotten something that we didn't even realize we needed! So far so good, but still stressing the interview (this Fri!! ) even though James has had all the paperwork with him since he left here after Thanksgiving.

The only defense I can think of for the people scrambling is maybe they didn't think of some things that would be beneficial at the interview till they saw someone else mention them on VJ? And sometimes the interview does sneak up on you! Like I said, I had sent James home with all the paperwork from my end so he has an I-134, a copy of my contract, a letter from my employer and some older pay stubs, but I was waiting to send all my current pay stubs, and mailed them off right after he sent his readiness checklist thinking he had a couple weeks. But surprise, the embassy called and scheduled him for an interview and my package of extra evidence has not arrived yet!

Don't worry, I am not complaining :innocent: I am thrilled (and praying the extra evidence will not be necessary!!)

I agree about being prepared, and normally I am in advance, but sometimes things just happen. Our water heater went out about 4 weeks ago and I had planned a renovation of the laundry room to be done whenever that event happened to occur. It's been way too long since I was able to walk through the house with bare feet and a hot shower is a dream right now. I"m also in school and work a full time job, so my stress level right now is out the roof. Our 90 days is up Friday, but somehow I think we will have things ready to mail, in spite of everything.

Today we went to the health department to check Abdel's immunizations, to make sure he had what he needed, and I was very happy to find out that our local health department is considered a qualified civil surgeon and was able to do the I-693 supplement sheet for us. We had the DS-3025 from Morocco already, but this gives us the extra document to hopefully prevent an RFE. The great part was that there was no charge except for the 2 shots he needed.

I'd recommend asking at your health department before even trying to locate a civil surgeon - it could save a lot of money.

Didnt know the health dept had civil surgeons. Not around here they dont anyways. Your lucky there.

We had to travel hours to get to one. Plus pay $50 for the form to be filled out.

Did you take the form with you, or did he have one at his office?

Okay done venting, I am going back to my corner and wait like a good little girl.:innocent:

Vent away as far as I am concerned. I'm sticking to my quiet corner these days but I feel just as frustrated and helpless as ever . . . DOS had nothing to say when i called today . . . so I guess it will drag on for awhile longer. Can't even grumble about the stupid embassy, LOL . . . it is out of their hands right now.

OK, maybe I should go to bed now and try to make up for the sleep I couldn't get LAST night.

Yours in venting,

Catherine

Aww Catherine...I know how hard it is to hear the same thing over and over again! I also understand about going to your quiet corner. Do whatever you need to feel better, we are all here when you are ready!

Not only did they have the forms, they knew exactly how to do everything. They have a stamp they put for the signature and the nurse assured us she does them for immigration all the time. We have a lot of migrant workers here, as well as Asian immigrants since we're a port city, and we have 3 military bases within 1 hour or less, 1 in the heart of the city. I guess this city is just used to this stuff. It was the same at the social security office and driver's license office. Everyone just acted like they deal with immigration documents every day.

We were able to add Abdel to my bank account today now that he has a state ID card. I also got a response from my mortgage company that all I need to do to add him to the mortgage is send them a quit claim deed. I had worried they would require him to pass a financial background check and show proof of enough income to be allowed to be on the house. I'm glad I'll be able to add him to the house without having to refinance.

Now if we can just get hot water and get the ceiling back up in the laundry room area so I'm not paying to heat the attic, and close in the opening where the old door was so air isn't getting out there. I can't wait to eat dinner at a table again instead of sitting on bar stools at the washing machine where it's hooked up in front of the kitchen sink. Abdel's latest endeavor was chiseling concrete to move the water lines. He has really amazed me with how hard he works and is always trying to do the hardest jobs so I don't have to.

I guess I should go to bed now, but I hate to leave him up with the plumber. It is so awesome to actually have a man around to handle things now. For those of you still waiting, hang in there. If your man is as great as Abdel, it will definitely be worth it.

I really admire those of you who have waited a long time and still have longer to wait, or even have to refile. I don't know how long I would have been able to keep going at the pace I was while I waited. I told Abdel tonight that I don't know how I stayed up till 1 or 2 AM, took 3 very hard classes, and worked a full-time demanding job while he was in Morocco and I was here. I'm only taking 2 easy classes now, getting to bed by 10 most nights, and I have him here to help me with the house, and I'm exhausted! I can only imagine what life must be like for those of you still having to wait, and my heart goes out to you.

I agree about the complaining. At least people are getting interview dates, and having the opportunity to bring their loved one here.
