Hello. I'm a USC and I petitioned for my husband who is a Nigerian citizen. He was not approved at his interview back in 2018 and we were in Administrative Processing since then. I reached out to my congressman's office and they were told that the case had been returned to USCIS for recommendation to revoke on July 2019. I checked everyday and NVC would always tell me they didn't have our case back from the Embassy yet.

Until one day I checked and they told me they had the case back since October 2020...then they kept telling me that they were doing their checks on it before sending to USCIS.

Well just recently they told me that the case has been sent back on April 13.

My question now is, how long should we wait to hear something from USCIS? Do they send me a letter or text or email letting me know that they received the case back?

In normal days it would have been about 6 months from day of denial (not necessarily the day of interiew) till you get the letter

but of course  nothing is normal

you can contact USCIS and ask to speak to a Tier 2 officer as things get lost (by USPS) and you don't want to miss this notice/ its too important

so call and find out if they have the case and when a notice was sent out

you should receive a NOIR or NOID to explain why the case was denied

they give you a short time (can be 30 to 60 days )  to respond to the issues

when they send it ,   be ready to reply with actual proofs that the issues are mistaken

Example"   if you wrote in your  cover letter that you met online on such and such a date, be prepared to copy the page that shows that

Thank you for responding. Do you think I should give it more time before I inquire? NVC just sent it on April 13th. People on FB groups were telling me that we probably won't hear anything from USCIS until Aug or Sept.

I'm just a little confused on if the website will be updated or if I need to give them time to send a letter or something before I start calling them.

Update: Today on the USCIS.gov website our status says that the petition was transferred to another service center and that I should receive a letter in the mail explaining why it was transferred and where it was transferred.
