Crossing Ontario/Quebec border for Visa interview during lockdown

I just wondered if anyone from Ontario had their interview during our current lockdown and if anyone had any issues driving to Quebec with the Ontario/Quebec border restrictions. I assume a letter with an appointment at the consulate would be enough of a valid reason to enter Quebec if we got stopped and asked?

Montreal confirmed our appointment and would know where we live from our file so I assume it's ok since they're still expecting us.

Our interview is May 26th but I am expecting the lockdown to be extended.

I suggest you use chat feature on this site to check ahead of your interview date that you can travel from ON to QC. Coming back won’t be a problem. Please share your experience, all the best. Although low probability, I hope provincial border restrictions/checks get lifted before your interview.

Hi, I knew someone that took a train from Ontario to Montreal. They didn’t ask her anything. But prepare your documents and appointment letter if someone will ask you. Montreal is the only Consulate that will interview immigrant visa for USA. They’ll let you through.

Will do. Thank you 🙂

Hi there, I wasn't able to see a chat feature in that link. Can you advise where it is?

Thanks

I was able to see it on the desktop site not mobile. I asked and nobody answered. I'll try again tomorrow. I also know someone trying to get to their interview tomorrow so we'll see. They were turned away today,  trying to come a day early and were told to come back the day of the interview. They drove 8 hours to get there.
