Hey guys I just recently completed my interview and everything went great, the officer didn’t provide us with an approval and a week later we got a RFE from the field office asking for evidence.

We have since sent the RFE through Fedex and was wondering if anyone has been through a similar situation. My case status is still stuck at Interview was scheduled and it is making us nervous

Once a document arrives to a field office, it still takes a while for it to get to the actual interviewing officer. And once there, another while for the officer to actually review it.

You can call customer service and ask for a tier 2 agent to inquire about your RFE.

I see, is it usually days/weeks or months ?

What did you initially submit? Was there something you missed? Any questions the agent asked?

Also, timeline is kind of confusing. Which visa did you arrive in US with?

We didn’t miss anything, he was busy so he didn’t have time to look over our file yet so he said he would mail us if he needed anything from us.

I arrived on F1 in 2014, Applied for AoS 08/2020

In that case, I don't think you have anything you should worry about. I'm not sure how common AOS is from F1 visa, so maybe the type of evidence they look at is different? Also, was the AoS 90 filed days of getting married? I read if it's not, then the USCIS considers it overstaying, but I'm not sure if that matters so much after getting married to a USC.

Glad to hear that, unfortunately we couldn’t file in 90 days since it was right during covid and couldn’t get some IRS documents in time. We’re just nervous since this is a RFE from a field office so it doesn’t update online if they’ve received it or not

We got an RFE after our interview - Interview was 4/19, status updated to say that they needed time to review - Never updated to say we got an RFE.  We received an RFE about the medical.  I sent that in on 5/6 via overnight priority mail, got a notice that they received it yesterday, and an update to approved today.

Congratulations, how did you get the notice ? Was it updated on your case status ?

Thank you! I woke up to an email alert, and it was updated on my case status as well that the card is being produced.
