Hi everyone, I’m currently filling out the IV application in CEAC

problem is my husband’s passport has an error . They’ve listed another city within the Department/Province as his place of birth . Can i still provide this passports info in the mean time while we wait on the corrected one?
Do you think this would cause a RFE
We’ve submitted a new passport application a while ago and still no news about it . I was going to submit the new one before the interview .
Because in Haiti this seems to be a common problem and who knows how long it’ll take for the new one 🤦🏽‍♀️

Take the new one to the interview.  I don't remember ever seeing an RFE issued for this.

Ok so on the IV app it says the data entered on this page should match the travel document, that means i have to put the incorrect city where it asks place of birth doesn’t it? Wouldn’t that cause problems because it’s never been mentioned in the i130 or anywhere else for that matter?

NO.  You must put accurate information on the DS-260.  You husband should type his actual birth place.  At the interview, present the new passport with the corrected information that matches the DS-260.

Ok so that wouldn’t be an issue when i upload a copy of his Passport? Should i type up a note explaining the problem and attach it?

No need.  NVC doesn't screen the DS-260 entries.  Just make sure that the updated passport is available in time for your husband's interview so any discrepancies can be corrected at the embassy.
