Good morning,

So I have filed the I-130 for my mother who is in the US currently. In parallel, I have filed I485 (received NAO1).

Last night, I have received an email to which says the I130 has been approved and was sent to NVC... This is great news 🙂

The email I received and all the information I gather from the NVC website after logging in, is that I have to pay other fees and the petition will be sent to Kiev's embassy.

The issue is that my mother is already in the US and I do not understand these fees and case being routed to Ukraine when I was clear in the application we were filing both applications concurrently and our local interview office would be in Charlotte, NC.

Any insight here on what the next steps are please?

Thanks in advance.

Don't pay any fees to NVC.  Contact NVC tell them that you mom is adjusting status and NOT consular professing

YMMV

The I-130 should not have been sent to NVC.  Maybe you entered incorrect info.  Contact NVC to correct the issue.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

I thought I had entered the incorrect info as well, but then I went back to the I-130 I filed and looked at it again and it clearly says:

The beneficiary is in the United States and will apply for adjustment of status to that of a lawful permanent resident at the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) office in:

61.a. City or Town CHARLOTTE 61.b. State NC

So is it safe to assume USCIS dropped the ball here?

It would appear so but does it really matter? Just need to get it fixed.   What is the current status of the i485?

YMMV

Sounds like it.  They make mistakes.  Just contact NVC.
