I am currently waiting on a THIRD approval. Was sent back to USCIS after approval because a box hadn’t been checked and we got an RFE. Got reapproved and then 3 months later it got sent back again and another RFE because the first one was lost in transit to NVC. I’m an October 1st filer. Sadly my son aged out in 3 weeks for his K2 visa. I hope we all hear something positive soon

Hi all. Just wanted to post this update. Today I received the official notice from the NVC that my fiance's case has been forwarded to the embassy. The strange thing is I have not received anything at all from the USCIS regarding a second approval and my case status with the USCIS has not been updated. I just got the notice from the NVC that the case is on it's way to the embassy. It looks like we are moving forward again.

I’m in the same situation

 4/23/23 noa2

7/03/23 department of state sent petition back to uscis

Uscis is currently reviewing the case and they said they want at least 180 days to reaffirm the case. However from what I’ve found online it’s not taking longer than 1 to 3 months for most cases. I’ve been checking the online case status in the uscis portal and also sending them inquiries.  The uscis officer said there’s no documentation required and nothing seems off. I’m thinking it might just be a clerical error.

my attorney said it’s very odd for a case to be sent back to uscis without having a case number assigned first.

Has anyone tried submitting an expedited request if in fact, it was a USCIS error? And was it approved, denied, or no response? I would think we would have received an RFE by now if it was something on our end that was missing or needed.

My fiancés case was returned on July 3rd as well to uscis. I’m thinking uscis probably messed up a batch that was meant to be sent to the nvc

Just received our case number from NVC last night (8/30). NVC received our case back sometime last week I think.
