I just found out that my file was secretly transferred to potomac where the waiting time is a year more. They're on Dec. 2019 and I filed October 2020. I'm gonna scream

I filed June 2020 at TSC transferred to VSC where there is a 3 year wait.  I feel you.

When our file was transferred from Nebraska to Texas a few years ago, it didn't affect the processing time at all.  We were not pushed to the back of the line.

We should've gotten a response a week ago if it's based on Nebraska, but nothing!

How did you know figure out you were transferred?

We just filed for out of processing times for Nebraska but it says we aren't so I suspect we have been moved as well.

The same exact thing happened to us. We filed in October 2020 and were at Nebraska, but transferred to Potomac without any notice. We only found out through "Ask Emma" and were quite sad to see that the processing times at Potomac are much longer.

We filed online, are both abroad, and I am a US citizen. Do you also fall into this category of cases?

Cases are often transferred due to the # of applications in any particular office to lesson the work load

all of you still waiting for the 1st step to be concluded should know that staff will be (or already are) starting summer vacations and more transfers are apt to happen

any one office can go from fast to slowest or visa versa at different points

Nebraska had our case 10 months and then transferred to Missouri (for faster processing -big laugh as it took about 6 months more)

Yes, same. But he’s in the US and I’m abroad

14 months for a spouse of a US citizen? Are they nuts? Are we supposed to stay apart for 2 years? Crazy

10 + 6 is 16

there is no special recognition for being born in the US

and we were 6 years in the whole mess

it never surprises me when a couple gets upset with immigration

I did on a daily basis

Just thought I'd pop in here to give a little hope. I'm a US citizen filed abroad online for my husband June 2020. Originally TSC but was transferred without notice (idk when) to Potomac. Today the case finally went under actively reviewed to approved within hours. I am at the tail end of the original TSC timeline. Don't give up hope if you've been transferred!!

I am also on the same boat as OP. Filed Oct. 2020 and all notices stated Nebraska center. No word from anyone but recently asked Emma live agent who stated that my file was in Potomac. I feel like they may have transferred a ton of 10/2020 Nebraska cases to Potomac.

This is discouraging as Nebraska cases from 2021 are being approved.

If anyone knows a way to escalate a case (by contacting USCIS/senators/embassies), please let us know as I cannot bear the wait much longer.

You can send an expedite request to USCIS if you have a valid reason.  Frustration at getting your case transferred to another service center is not a valid reason (we tried, it didn't work) -- https://www.uscis.gov/forms/filing-guidance/how-to-make-an-expedite-request
