Contacting a congressman wouldn't make you a troublemaker. The congressman is these people's boss. If you went to a supermarket and they tried to make you pay hundreds of dollars for something unnecessarily, I don't know about you but I'd be demanding their supervisor. Besides, the congressman could help them to find the missing medical info - it could be in a wrong file or something. The congressman could call them directly and light a fire under their butts in a way that you can't.

Thanks again. Well, I think I'll try the InfoPass thing first and hope it gets results, but if that fails, then contacting the Congressman is something to think about. From what I've read on here, this does seem to be a common problem and it's just not right.

California has never even acknowledged that the form has been lost, they simply say that they don't have it and so I must send it. There's a principle at stake here, but do I want to be the one to make waves? When you come down to it, I'm just like everyone else here, I want to get the whole long, drawn-out affair done and dusted as quickly as possible. I've come a long way and the end is now in sight, so I'm reluctantly inclined to swallow my pride, shut up and pay up.

Karly-n-Bruce,

No, it is not. The forms used to report the visa medical exam are DS-2053, DS-3024, DS-3025 and DS-3026.

Yodrak

Clearly I realized my mistake and fixed it with the OP. Thanks.

Well, I did some checking and spent several hours on the phone yesterday, and it turns out that the London embassy has copies of the doctor's medical forms. So, I thought it should be simple enough to ask California to request the copies from London and everything would be fine... WRONG!!!... California won't settle for copies, not even if they come directly from their own embassy in London. It has to be the originals, and since nobody knows where they are, I'm stuffed!

So, I've had it with this. I just have to undergo another medical and leave it at that, but I can't believe how inflexible they've been. I'm just glad that I'm on the final straight (for now, anyhow).

Oh well, I guess you can't win 'em all, but thanks to everyone for their help and advice!
