interview reminder notice with requirements

Today we received what appears to be an automatically sent reminder notice of our interview in two weeks.

The notice included an instruction stating we must upload to CEAC an updated police report because the prior one from Cambodia is expired.  (Note Cambodian Police Reports contain a stamp which says that the document expires in 90 days).

Note the Police Report for Thailand where we now live was issued in October of 2020 and there was NO requirement to also update that one.

The Embassy Website Pre Interview instructions clearly state that an updated police report is only required if all 3 of the following are true:

Over 16 years old AND

Report originally submitted to NVC is more than a year old AND

You still reside in that country.

We live in Thailand and my wife does NOT live in Cambodia anymore and has not been in Cambodia since March 2020.  The Police Certificate was generate and sent to NVC in November 2020.

The certificate is NOT more than a year old and she does NOT live in Cambodia so it seems an updated report is not needed.

I emailed the IV Unit of the Bangkok Embassy the above info and they replied that they cannot adjudicate a case prior to the interview and if we received instructions we should follow them.

I don't think an updated report can be obtained prior to the interview.  If it is possible it will likely cost $1000 to "rush".

Has anyone had experience with the "Auto Reminder" containing additional requirements that turn out in fact not to be required?

Any suggetions or advice?

Thank you.

I recommend waiting for instructions from the consul officer at the interview.  An updated police certificate from another country is normally not required if the applicant has not returned to that country.
