Hi Kimberley,

I filed in October 2020 and have not had the interview yet. Have you had any progress?

Nope. Their timeline keeps changing. For as now their estimate (and I'm not holding my breath for that one)is for the spring.

Hi everyone, exactly 14 months after I filed on October 28th 2020,  I was now invited for the long-awaited interview yesterday. My field office (Sacramento, California) has one of the longest processing time. Wish everyone get updates on their application.

I now need to find out about the interview question. Has anyone used any application? Also, I had a valid green card at the time of application but it expired a few months ago. The lawyers are saying the green card is not needed for naturalization but I am a bit concerned. Has anyone attended their interview with an expired green card?

My timeline below:

Filed on October 28, 2020

Invited for interview: 28 December, 2021

Interview date: 30 January 2022

Field office: Sacramento, California

Yay congrats!

I have an app that has the questions some you have to Google, like your representative etc. I think it's called USCIS: civics test. A lot of my friends have used it and they became citizens not so long ago. Not sure about an expired green card, I believe they'll take it from you after the ceremony. I have a 10 year geen card so I'm not to worried about that.

Good luck next month!

Not an issue, just bring the expired green card, driver's license, and passports (Current and old). Bring what the invitation letter tells you to bring.

Bring an original copy of your spouse's birth certificate or naturalization certificate to prove when they became a citizen. (If under 3 year rule)

Bring updated tax transcripts also.

My ceremoney was scheduled 21 days after the approval of my application (interview). My field office was Sacramento. I applied for the passport on the same day (expedite) and received it in less than four weeks. So everything from interview date to being to travel took less than 2 months. I hope this has helped. Good luck.

So after 11 months and 2 weeks after filing we got the notice today that the n400 interview is scheduled for May 16th 2022 at 12:45 am at the Sacramento field office. This came as a surprise to us as USCIS was forecasting up to a year's wait from now on the My USCIS web page.

We have an i751 still pending so we are hoping it will be a combo interview with i751 and n400 at the same appointment. USA spouse will be on standby nearby in case it turns out that way.

My son who filed online on May 27 got his interview notice today and scheduled for May 25 so this is about 11 months

I submitted mine via mail on May 24 and not yet getting updates for interview.

I noticed from outside sources 2 Sacramento filers getting their interview in a year and that seems improvement atleast.
