As you can see in the pics below, I'm running into this issue with my package. The package (not yet complete) is already like 5 inches thick on one corner and way uneven due to paperclips. My package, when completed, is going to have 47 items, not including the form itself. That's a lot of paperclips, especially since some of the items have a ton of sub-items (e.g. quarterly records from bank accounts, brokerage accounts, credit cards, etc.).

My potential solution would be to remove any of the paper-clips between the sub-items. That is, all of the quarterly statements for one joint brokerage account would be held together by a binder clip instead of a bunch of paper clips separating each monthly statement and then all held together by a binder clip.

Would that work to combine monthly statements with a big binder clip? Anyone else run into this issue? How'd you solve it?

Split up the paper clips so about 1/3 are on the left side, 1/3 are in the middle of the document, and 1/3 and towards the right side of the page. Your idea of using binder clips to do bigger sections would work as well. TBH 5 inches seems really, really thicc. Our packet was 1.5" and even at that point I thought it was excessive. And that included deeds to our jointly owned homes, kids' birth certs, auto titles, bank accounts etc.

BTW what is that first document? For ROC you basically just need the I751 form + copy of green card + copy of marriage certificate + evidence. I don't recall sending in any "white book" natatorial docs. Unless it's a Chinese marriage cert, I don't think you need to send in any other white books.

Good idea on splitting them up! Yes it’s a Chinese marriage certificate. Still waiting to finish the I-751 form until after our child is born this month.

It ended up being super thick because of the nature of the evidence. One month statement from our brokerage is 22 pages. We have several joint accounts, so even quarterly statement pushes those sections to 200+ pages. Without the paper clip craziness it should probably be like 2” when finished.

Nice. We filed in Feb 2021. We only sent in Jan 2021, 2020, 2019... statements. That really helped to trim the fat. Fortunately we have everything at Fidelity so we have a single consolidated statement each month.

Congratulations on the soon-to-arrive baby BTW! 😀

CR1 / DCF (London): 2012 / 2013 (4 months from I-130 petition to visa in hand)

I-751 #1- April 2015 [Denied]

April 2015 : I-751 Joint filing package sent fedex next day 09:00am from UK ($lots - thanks).
Jan 2017: Notification that an interview has been scheduled at a local office. Bizarrely still no RFE...
Jan 2017: 2hr wait, then interview terminated before it began, due to moving my ID to another state 2 wks prior. New interview 'in a few months...maybe.'   Informed them that divorce proceedings are underway, but not finalised at this time.
March 2017: An Interview was scheduled - marked as no-show as they didn't actually send out a notification of interview. FML
April  2017: Filed an official complaint with the ombudsman, and have requested Senator & Congressman assistance
August 2017: Interview - switched to a (finalised) divorce waiver. Told that decision will be made that afternoon, but no problems foreseen with my case.
October 2017: Letter of Denial received - reason given as 'I-751 petition was not properly filed'. Discovered ex-spouse made false allegations to USCIS in 2015. No opportunity given to review & refute allegations  - contrary to USCIS policy.

I-751 #2 - Oct 2017 - Mar 2021[Denied]

October 2017: Within 72hrs of receiving denial notice, a new waiver I-751, divorce decree & $680 cheque, sent to Vermont via FedEx overnight 9am priority.
Dec 2019: Filed FOIA request for full A# file
Feb 2020: FOIA request completed - entire A# file received as a .PDF; 197 pages fully redacted, and 80 partially redacted. Don't waste your time!
March 2021: I-751 #2 denied for lack of evidence. No RFE, no interview, and evidence in previous I-751 not reviewed - contrary to policy. Huge errors in adjudication.

N-400 - Feb 2018 - Apr 2021 [Denied]

February 2018: N-400 filed online.  $725 paid to the USCIS paperwork wastage fund

February  2019: Interview - cancelled after a four hour wait due to 'missing paperwork' on their end. Promised Expedited reschedule.

March 2021: Interview letter received, strangely dated after I-751 denial. No I-751 interview conducted. N-400 interview and test passed, given 'cannot make a decision at this time' paper due to the ongoing I-751 nightmare...

April 2021: N-400 denial received citing recent I-751 denial as basis for ineligibility, even though it should have been a combo interview 🤯

I AM JACK'S COMPLETE LACK OF SURPRISE

Service Motion - March 2021 [Sent via FedEx & COMPLETELY IGNORED by USCIS]

March 2021: Service Motion request sent overnight addressed direectly to field office director, requesting urgent review and re-opening, based on errors in adjudication - citing USCIS policy, AFM and memorandums as basis for errors. This was completely ignored by USCIS.

 I-751 #3 - June 2021 - Jan 2024 [Denied]

IT'S GROUNDHOG DAY

June 2021: I-751 #3 (30+lbs/5000 pages of paperwork) & another $680 sent to USCIS via FedEx ($300+..thanks) ....

June 2021: Receipt issued, card charged, biometrics waived, infopass scheduled for I-551 stamp number ten.....

Feb 2022: RFIE (no, not an RFE, a Request For Initial Evidence) received, for copies of the divorce paperwork that they already have 😑

July 2022: Infopass for I-551 stamp number eleven.....

August 2023: Infopass for I-551 stamp number twelve....

January 2024: Denial received, ignoring the overwhelming majority of the filing, abundance of evidence, and refutation of a provably false allegation. The denial also contradicts itself in multiple places, as if it was written by someone with an IQ <50.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

2024: FML. Seriously. I'm done.

Ours looked similar because I sent in basically everything that could help prove we are a bonafide married couple. 2018, 2019, and 2020 tax returns (entire packets), bank statements dating back a year, the deed to our home showing me as the buyer but listing us both as the owners, his truck loan with both our names, his car tag registration showing both of us registered, a year of water bills with both our names, life insurance showing him as my beneficiary, medical insurance, car insurance, cards mailed to both of us, pictures from the last two years of different trips, all our airline tickets from when we traveled, airbnb receipts, etc. I totally front loaded but I'd rather send to much than not enough. I used paper clips to divide everything then I used those big alligator clips to hold it together (it ended up breaking into two big packets), then I put two rubber bands around each packet. I had to mail it in an actual box instead of an envelope. I was really worried they wouldn't accept it or something but they cashed our check about six weeks later and sent a NOA1 letter shortly after then a few weeks after that we got a letter to show biometrics have been waived so they must be ok with the large packet.
