Hi everyone!!

I filed N-400 under 3 year rule as VAWA recipient and I have an interview on 06/01/21.

The interview required me to bring the originals of

- Marriage certificate

- Proof of death or divorce for each prior marriage of myself and spouse

- My spouse's birth or naturalization certificate or certificate of citizenship

My current status is divorced with my ex-husband who is USC and also abuser. I didn't expected that they are going to ask about my ex or how did I get VAWA since I have sent all the support documents for VAWA

but due to what they required for an interview, it makes me feel like I still have to deal with my ex which I cannot do it.

I had a really hard time to go through with what caused me and my son from my ex-husband. It involved with polices, social workers, court order/court sentence and hospital because of the injure he did.

I have a marriage certificate and proof of divorce with him (first time marry for both of us) and his expired US passport. I hope the passport works because I'm not be able to contact him.

Does anyone here who has VAWA case and has to bring these documents to N-400 interview?

Did the IO ask you about how do you get VAWA or anything about your ex?

Do I need an attorney for the interview?

Will his expired US passport be good for the interview?

Thanks in advance!
