Hello,

I am trying to figure out :

At the green card interview do they keep your advance parole card/work permit? ( I know you get a green card if you are approved but I heard that takes weeks/months to actually receive it).  We are traveling in  late June and wonder if they take the advance parole card/work permit, in which case we could not travel until we get the green card. Thank you!

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Was it technically voided when her GC was approved?

That wasn't the question,  but as far as I know, if the i485 has been approved, then the interim benefits are cancelled.

To the OP, I wouldn't be traveling on your AP if your GC has been approved.   You would need to get an emergency i551 stamp in your passport to travel if the card hasn't arrived

Hi, I just went to green card interview a few days ago. After officer told me that  the interview was passed and I would be able to receive green card in a couple weeks,  I asked if I needed to turn in work permit, officer said NO, but I would have to use green card to apply a job later, which means work permit will be canceled automatically in their system.

Just because you have heard of something doesn't mean it's true. You can ask officer questions directly during AOS interview. In my case, the officer interviewed me is some sort of supervisor, my AOS was approved in less than 48 hours( it was what officer told me in person during interview), he also told me that I should be able to receive green card in 2 weeks which turned out to be true as well( it showed on my case status on USCIS website). I don't recommend you travel aboard after AOS interview.
