We haven’t gotten to that piece yet. But i think you just go and request it and they send it directly. So it’s ok that you don’t have a copy. But i would recommend asking the others who have been to the interview already because they might know better.

also, they didn’t ask for any additional documents to be uploaded once we became DQ.

also there is a pre interview checklist of the things that are needed (but you can only do these once the interview is scheduled). Below is the link in case you want to review.

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Supplements/Supplements_by_Post/TIA-Tirana.html#pre_interview_checklist

No my question was did they ask for any additional documents before you got DQ’d. Something not listed on the NVC checklist.

Ohh i thought you were already DQ.

No it was just what was on the checklist (i don’t remember everything they asked for but i know they needed w2s, a birth Certificate no older than a year that showed current marital status and any relevant court documents).

Hi, we became DQ on July 19th and were notified on September 14th of our interview being scheduled at the us embassy in Albania for October 21st. So i think things are moving faster now.

Hi,

You mentioned you became DQ on July 19th. Can you share when you submitted all your documents and if they requested any additional evidence?

Hi, we submitted everything mid-May. They didn’t ask for anything else other than what they originally requested. Once we became DQ they didn’t ask for anything additional.

Congratulations!! Looks like they are catching up pretty fast. And yes, it was yesterday. Very easy process; they asked a few health questions and did some labs & sent the results directly to the embassy.

Hi @DAgg @DAgg @At175 @shosholala  Quick question, as our interview is coming up soon, we are getting ready to mail our documents to the embassy, did you all have to mail the original wet ink Affidavit of support (I-864)  to the embassy or was just a copy sufficient?

Hey @iris128 a copy of the I-864 should be okay. Good luck on the interview :)

Thank you so so much @DAgg!! Did you just have a copy and not the original and the embassy was ok with it?

Our lawyer said he thinks the original is needed (but he seemed unsure) and i figured i would ask you all since you’ve just been through the process. Im also struggling to find a way to ship the original in time for when my husband needs to mail them to the embassy. So it’s a huge relief if a copy is acceptable.

We only sent the copy. They never asked for the original.

I mailed a copy as well but I took the original with me in the interview. They didn't ask for it, but I just wanted to make sure I had it. Good luck!!

Hello everyone, shpresoj te jeni mire haha

Nice to see this many albanians on his site, this is the first such topic I come accross, thank you all for the valuable information you've posted!

Me and my fiance are on the K-1 route. I figure it's similar in priority to CR1. The Tirane Embassy makes me nervous

If you all wouldn't mind, can I know your start to finish timelines?

I am hanging on to the hope that my timeline will be under one year, but I am not so sure these days. (I am 5 months waiting for NOA 2) Some of you had many problems, some had it easy from what I remember reading,

Please let me know, thanks!

Hey!  Good luck with your journey!

Mine lasted forever(like almost 2 years) because of covid but I also had a spousal visa and the fiance visa you seem to have, they are done much quicker. Also the embassy is working right now so, fingers crossed, you should be much quicker than the rest of us!

Hi,

we applied on may 1st 2020 and have our interview for October 21st 2021. We did a cr visa. I agree with At175 that it just took longer because of the pandemic, but everything is open now and they are moving faster.
