@At175 You made my day by replying thank you again! 😊

When you send your documents via post to the embassy, do you recommend a shipping company Posta Shqiptare or DHL? Did they give you a tracking number for you to verify your post got delivered? Also, did you have to send the original i864 documents via post or is it not needed as the embassy should have that on file already from NVC? Because I read online that whatever documents you send via post, you will get the originals back and the embassy will keep copies.

Last question and I want to thank you one more time. What did you bring to the actual interview itself? Your visa interview letter, passport, 2 photos, and was there anything else that helped you in your interview?

I'm very happy for you and your spouse!  Thank you so so much for your responses and your help you don't know how much better I feel with your guidance!

So, I used DhL, that's what the embassy recommended using. The person working at the DHL at least in my town, they knew exactly how it worked, because they do this all the time. They gave me a tracking number, and it literally arrived at the embassy that same day I mailed them. One thing to keep in mind, the embassy asks you to mail the documents 2 weeks in advance. I read that if you are sending them between 14 days and 11 days in advance you are fine but further than that, then just bring them with you and don't mail them.

So, the i-864, I mailed a copy to the embassy and then I brought the original with me, because my husband hadn't mailed it yet when I mailed the documents. But they didnt even ask me for my original at the interview. However, I think it's better to have the original with you just in case.

So, what I did, I mailed everything they asked for 2 weeks prior and then made a copy of everything I mailed and brought the copies plus the original i-864 with me at the interview, just in case. I was being too careful.

Honestly i dont know what helped me! Haha I was extremely nervous so I don't know what advice to give you there.

Thank you for the kind words! You will do great!!

@At175 How did the consular officer mention to you that your visa got approved? Did they tell you after your interview that your visa is approved and it will be sent to your local DHL in about 2 weeks time? Also are they rude there? Do you think that your visa is already approved before you get to the interview considering you will be sending in your documents 2 weeks prior so they can double check everything? THANK YOU @At175 you're the best!!!

She just said your visa is approved and it will arrive between 2 and 3 weeks!

No they aren't rude at all. They are very professional.

I honestly don't know. I've heard they already have an idea if you are going to be approved or not before the interview, but that's what I've read on the internet. I have no idea otherwise. Also even if you don't mail the documents, they already have them anyways, because you have to upload them on CEAC. Have you received that email yet telling you that you need to do that?

wow 2 to 3 weeks ... I thought you typically received the visa a few day after! Can you keep us posted when you do receive it?

@At175 @DAgg @shosholala How did you do the Vërtetim i Gjendjes Gjyqësore nga Ministria e Drejtësisë? Did you go to the post office and they electronically submitted it for you to the embassy? Because I already have filed last year the deshmi penaliteti when I started my visa application and submitted it to NVC and they said the embassy will have it themselves. Could you direct me on the correct path for this?

Kur tё aplikoni pranё Zyrës sё Postës, duhet tё shënoni "Ambasada Amerikane" tek pika "Institucioni pёr tё cilin kërkohet certifikata" i formularit të aplikimit. Vërtetimet do tё dërgohen direkt pranё Zyrës sё Seksionit Konsullor tё Ambasadës sё SHBA nё Tiranё; aplikanti NUK mund tё paraqesë vetё Vërtetimin e Gjendjes Gjyqësore. Përfshini llojin e vizës që aplikoni dhe datën e intervistës siç iu është komunikuar.

Hi everyone,

Our case will be sent to the Tirana embassy for an interview. How long did it take from NVC DQ'ing your documents to actually getting an appointment at the embassy? Just trying to get a grasp of the timeframe and how long do we have to wait.

Thank you in advance for your feedback.

Let me ask you something. On your country's US emabssy website have you browsed around there for anything on visas? Don't matter which visa class just visas in general. Because this is what I did. I browsed through many posts and came to one that said K1 visa faqs. As I was reading I came to a section that said something like is there a way to process this faster. What I understood of that was if there was any way to get that k1 visa expedited. And as I read some more there was 1 that said if you have a US citizen child that will travel with you. And that right there made it clear to me that K1 visa holders can expedite their processing if they have a US citizen child that will travel with them.y wife's visa class is IR1. So if that child traveling with the K1 visa can expedite that case then much more for a IR1 because who more likely to have a US citizen child and of course that can travel with them. Very rare would you see a K1 visa holder have a US citizen child in the first place because they are just fiancé. Right? So I knee that this would work for my wife because if it was posted on a us embassy website then it had to be true. So I've made a request for my wife's petition to be expedited and I wrote down because my wife has a US citizen child that will be traveling with her. I did not add anymore details to that with the information I found and I just added tommt story of how me and my wife have been separated for how many years and that I missing out on my kids growing up and soon they will be going to college and I won't be seeing them going through those times either. It's a true story. Anyways wheni out in that request for expedite about a week later my wife got her appointment for interview at the us embassy. Which will be in a couple of weeks. There shouldn't be any reason for her to be denied since everything we ever said written down were the truth. No false records of a date. Even all documents submitted were all true. So I am 100% sure that she will not get denied. And upon her approval she just needs to wait on the arrival of her documents that says she is okay to leave. And thats when I'll get her and my sons plane ticket. I'm hoping that by October they will be here finally a family again. Can you imagine that in 10 years that we've been separated that we've only seen.each other for about almost 2 weeks. When I went to them to celebrate my sons birthday. And that is the last time I've been with them. It would be almost 4 years.that we haven't eaten together.. I wasn't able to petition for my wife back then because I wasn't earning enough to pay for initial fee. I was only making $139. /week. I was barely making enough to put a roof over my head and to food on my table. I've had to make sure my family had a roof over their head and food on the table as well. Lucky the grace of GOD everything turned out better than I imagined . And I was able to pay for all fees  future plane tickets.put more.than enough food.on the table and provide a roof.over their heads and buy them gadgets and then some. All that from a seriously hard time in both our lives we have been able.to overcome all odds against us and through prayer and will we are proof that anything is possible. You just need to apply it. Everything you need to get to that goal you have. You just need to find it and harness it and believe me you will reach that goal. Thanks for reading everyone. This was a worth share  I think. And maybe can help any of you that feel are in the same situation. Don't give up f there's a will there's always a way.  God bless

You have to tell them is for the US Embassy. I got a receipt and then submitted that to NVC indicating that the actual document was sent directly to the Embassy per their instructions.

Hi, we became DQ on July 19th and were notified on September 14th of our interview being scheduled at the us embassy in Albania for October 21st. So i think things are moving faster now.

Sorry but did NVC ask you for any additional documents and if so what documents?
My concern is "deshmi penaliteti" since for Albania, the applicant doesn't get a copy of that but is sent directly to the embassy so just wanted to know what happened with it.

Thank you!

We haven’t gotten to that piece yet. But i think you just go and request it and they send it directly. So it’s ok that you don’t have a copy. But i would recommend asking the others who have been to the interview already because they might know better.

also, they didn’t ask for any additional documents to be uploaded once we became DQ.

also there is a pre interview checklist of the things that are needed (but you can only do these once the interview is scheduled). Below is the link in case you want to review.
