@DAgg  where do you see people with a May 2020 DQ date that hasn't been interviewed? Or that was interviewed before June / July DQ?

I don't understand how they went from processing 100 CR1 / IR1 visas in March to processing 19 in April? I wonder if I should reach out to them. It's a some form human rights abuse to not efficiently provide spousal visas to American citizens!

I know the person who was DQ’ed in May. He had his interview in March and already moved to the US.
Unfortunately this is the current situation with a lot of US embassies. The embassy or the NVC don’t tell us anything.

I dont think they are interviewing for tourist visas. I think they are just renewing them with no interview? My understanding is that they are not giving any new tourist visas.

My question is why did they do so few visas overall compared to march?

Albanian election maybe? It’s the only reason I can think of.

Yea that timeline doesn't surprise. It seems like they stuffed a lot of people in March; I doubt May is better because they haven't reached out to any of us.

I am already in the United States, just have to go back for my visa but would like my greencard as soon as possible!

Hey,

I saw somewhere that the NVC is starting to send emails every 120 days if the case is DQ-ed and not scheduled for an interview yet. Have any of you received something like that?

No, I haven’t received anything.
I wonder if the email is only for family preference category.

Ah you might be right. I guess this long wait is messing with my head, overthinking and researching everything. 🙈

Hey,

A friend of mine was called for an interview after His case had stayed at the embassy for only a week. He was a K1 visa applicant.
At the medical exam he said there were a lot of people waiting in line, but almost all were from the family preference or K1 visa category.
it makes me think they have put a pause on spousal visas and scheduling other categories to catch up.

Wow that's crazy! Maybe I don't want to believe it but I just find this crazy to do. First because they started processing K1 the same time they started spousal visas, and to me if they stopped spousal visas they would stop K1 visas as well.

Secondly, I watched this YouTube video where this NVC guy was talking and he said they are focusing on family reunification, meaning IR (so immediate relatives: sons, parents, and spouses) and fiancee visas are getting priority.

I don't know though, with how long it is taking for us, you might be right. I wonder if NVC would give us some more information on this if we called them.

Also, I wonder what the numbers will look like this month. God I really really hope this is not true!

I already did that. Here’s how they replied.

Of course they said nothing new. I just want to see for instance how many more family preference than spousal visas they would have this month. It really is not fair, if that's the case. It means they are punishing spousal visas.
