I864-Affidavit of Support

Hi,

I am a US citizen and trying to bring my wife from overseas. I was out of the country for 5 years and we have been married for 2 years. I lost my job overseas in 2020 during pandemic. Then received a job offer from the US in December 2020 and moved back to the country. I am the petitioner for my wife. I started my new job in FL in December and filed my taxes for 2020 but I didn't make enough money to support the affidavit.

I do make around 6 digits since December. Is there any way I can prove my income with a letter from employer, an offer letter, pay stubs etc? I also purchased a home recently in the states.

My question is, do I have a chance to pass through this with extra documents or should I find a sponsor as affidavit of support?

Thank you for all answers.

Which embassy/consulate will your wife be interviewing at?  For most consulates, sufficient current income is what matters, and an employment letter stating the annual salary or a recent pay stub would be enough evidence of current income.  But if the case is at Mumbai, they have been known to require income above minimum threshold for the past 3 years.

By the way, an offer letter would not be evidence of current income.

For NVC, employment letter stating annual salary and/or recent pay stubs would be enough evidence of current income.

Hopefully, others who went through Ankara will chime in with their actual experience regarding financial evidence required at the visa interview.

been waiting for an Interview from Ankara for 9 months and still waiting!!! they're not accepting foreigners, only Turkish residents.

They want 3 documents to prove your current income  ((W2 and letter from your employer place of work and FEDERAL INCOME TAX RETURN))
