Yes, I was wondering this too. I thought the K3 was essentially dead and filing the I-129F didn't speed up adjudication of the I-130. That's what I remember reading about it, but maybe things have changed again?

Well I filed k3 along with my I130 petition, and I received a receipt for just the i129f petition.

The I-129f will, almost certainly, be closed administratively.

Yu don’t know that, and I’d appreciate it if you’d keep your negative assumptions to yourself. Thank you!

You may not know this but it is against the TOS to tell people not to post on threads. You may not like what @Lucky Cat is saying but he's right -- given what has happened in the past with people filing I-129Fs to get a K3, the I-129F gets administratively closed and the case continues on as a CR1 or IR1. The K3 is effectively dead as a visa but there have been a few cases every year. Maybe you will be one of the few that doesn't have it closed.

I didn’t tell anyone not to post on threads. I asked them to keep their negative assumptions to themselves. Idc what other people have experienced..that has nothing to do with me. Also, they stopped doing k3 because they were processing the I-130 petitions quicker, so there was no need. However, things are changing. I think people need to stop listening to the advice of pessimistic people. It doesn’t hurt to file k3, just like it doesn’t hurt to request expedited processing.

You can always choose to ignore a poster. :) Your post did come off a bit like "I don't want to hear your pessimism so go away if you're going to say things I think are pessimistic," which is telling people not to post things that you may find upsetting.

But the reason why I assume most of us are on here is to learn from the experiences and knowledge of others. Historically K3s haven't been issued even if the process still exists. That's really important to know if people are relying on getting a K3. There's been a possible sighting of a K3 in the wild now, so to speak, which is really interesting because they have been essentially unicorns for years now. Maybe that means things are changing, maybe it's a blip. We don't know! It's possible to stay optimistic while also accepting that it's unlikely. That's true about a lot of things in life -- why else would people play Power Ball? :D

Best of luck to you!!!

That’s exactly what I’m saying. Please do not address me with pessimistic negative assumptions. If I wanted someone’s opinion I would ask for it.
I joined this site to learn new things, but I will not entertain is people throwing their negative energy on me. There’s also millions of people who get their petitions denied, should my husband and I give up because of other people’s bad experiences? Trying to discourage people is lame. Idc what the rules are. They can kick me off the site if they want.

If USCIS decides to close my k3 application and proceed with my 130 that's their decision.

You can't have just an approved I-129F as the I-130 has to be approved to get a K3 via a spousal.  If you file the I-129F it will go to the same service center as the I-130.   So in your case it would go to TSC.   Feel free to send in the I-129F and see what happens!

That’s not true. The I-129f is only to shorten the separation time between the spouses while the I-130 is being processed and approved. It is possible to get the I-129f approved first, granted a k3, and the I-130 is approved after beneficiary arrives in the U.S.

When has that last happened?  K3 visa approvals are almost non-existent.  In 2019, there only 5 issued world wide.

Correct - The I-130 isn't approved prior to the I-129F being approved.  You simply need the I-130 NOA1 in order to file the K3.

The central american cases I have heard about weren't really faster.   It still took almost 2 years (pre covid) to get the K3 and then you have all the joys of essentially doing a fiance visa awaiting for the the beneficiary upon arrival in the US.
