Hey folks,

I just got a notice that was my N400 Interview is coming up later this month and I realized that I have some concerns about my current situation that I’d love some feedback on from experienced forum members.

No current fixed address

At the start of March. I took a trip out of the country for business purposes, to visit some friends, and to vacation. As I would be going for more than 1 month and in order to save some money, I put my stuff in storage and gave up my current rental.

Now I realize that in having no fixed address this may present a problem during my interview. How could I address that?

Some options I thought of:

  • rent a place ASAP when I return to the USA: I only have 1 week from my interview
  • stay with a friend and use his address as my new living address
  • Be honest about my situation. Rent an AirBNB and give that address. Be honest and if asked say that I’m looking for a new place after coming back from my travels.
  • Delay my interview until I have a bit more of a stabilized living environment

2020 Tax Return Not Yet Filed, Extension

I prepaid my estimated taxes for 2020 but opted for the 6 month extension. Will this be an issue?

Low Income + Unemployment claims

Haven’t been showing a lot of income in the past years due to working on a startup and going through a divorce (stress impacting my throughput).

Also this past year I collected some COVID emergency unemployment for self-employed individuals.

All tax returns filed and payments are up to date though.

Will those affect me in any way?

Thanks for reading and any feedback on these issues….
