According to the timelines that this site offers and the USCIS website, my case should in theory be coming up soon. Does the site with the tracking number from the NOA1 update when your case is opened? And if it does, roughly how long is it normally between it being opened and getting the NOA2? This may have been asked before but I couldn't find any information. Thank you in advance

Create an account at uscis.gov they are getting better informing people electronically (instead of waiting for the mail service to deliver the paperwork)

This was my timeline pre-covid, so it is hard to tell how long it'll take now, especially since it varies from country to country and from state to state and now of course due to covid it might be a little bit extra time.

I've helped 2 people recently with the K1 process took about 8 months from filing to get noa2. One group is already here, and I married them a few weeks ago. The other couple is waiting for an interview at the embassy. But figure 8- 8.5 months for approval.

Here on a K1? Need married and a Certificate in hand within a few hours? I'm here to help. Come to Vegas and I'll marry you Vegas style!!   Visa Journey members are always FREE for my services. I know the costs involved in this whole game of immigration, and if I can save you some money I will!

Receiving NOA2 can vary from couple to couple.  We didnt receive ours until 6 months after we received our NOA1, and that's pre-covid.

I received my NOA2 about 9 months after my NOA1 - that was in the thick of the pandemic and talk about USCIS furloughs etc. It also depends on which center your case is being processed. My approval also came a month or so after the "estimated" dates and I had no RFE's.

I was checking mine on the daily and the best advise is don't - this process takes a lot of time and checking it daily will only speed up anxiety but not the process.

We sent our i-129f right before COVID in early February 2020. We got our NOA1 in just over a week (which is significantly faster than they're being sent out currently) and then we waited 7 months until the end of September for our NOA2. We probably weren't affected as heavily by COVID as some people are now, but it seems like lots of people are waiting 8-9 months after NOA1 for NOA2 at the moment.

You can click on my timeline to see more details. You can also edit your own timeline to include dates if you'd like.

I understand all too well the desperation waiting to hear back. I'm sure you'll get some news soon! Good luck!

The short answer for our experience.

noa-1 8/12/2020

RFE - 3/17/2021

RFE received 3/26/2021

RFE approved / NOA-2 5/24/2021

266 days and counting for us. I might be a few days off on the RFE dates but overall thats where it stands. Hopefully will be less time for you as I think the current administration is looking to hire back alot of the employees that were furloughed.

that being said; its a long haul, but dont give up. There will be ups and downs, but if you can get through this as a couple than you should be able to get through anything!
