Watching the "Progressives" try to maintain their insane positions while attempting to keep all their plates spinning in the air is entertaining.  The fact that the Left/Dems have not realized that their position on trans (male to female) participating in women's sports will decimate Title IX really tells me that they have little if no common sense.

Jenner's a horrible person and not progressive. She's not "the left" and her campaign isn't going anywhere because she's catering to people who wouldn't vote for a trans woman in the first place. I also have absolutely no idea how you got to the conclusion that allowing trans kids (male or female) to play sports will decimate Title IX.

First of all, I never said Jenner was a Progressive.  I believe politically, she defines herself as a Conservative, or at the very least a classical Liberal/Libertarian.  I am not really sure how you come to the conclusion she is a horrible person, do you know her personally?  I also am not sure how you come to the conclusion that she is catering to people that would never vote for her.  Considering she is not catering to the bigoted Left, she apparently is catering to people she agrees with politically.  As to a male to female trans person playing women's sports, I believe there are plenty of examples you can find with your favorite search engine showing how the biological females are at a very competitive disadvantage when this occurs.

She murdered someone with her car and got away with it, for starters.

So the Justice system in California let a "murderer" off?

Because the justice system is super fair and the outcome isn't at all dependent on how good of a lawyer you can afford?

So the Justice system in the country is a complete mess.  I get it, maybe the Feds should do away with it and just take over everything.

That seems to suggest that it works differently on the federal level?

Why have a justice system at all, Federal or State?

The numbers of trans kids playing sports in school is really low. And in the states where laws against trans kids participating in sports have been proposed, lawmakers can't cite to local examples. https://apnews.com/article/lawmakers-unable-to-cite-local-trans-girls-sports-914a982545e943ecc1e265e8c41042e7

Quote

The Associated Press reached out to two dozen state lawmakers sponsoring such measures around the country as well as the conservative groups supporting them and found only a few times it’s been an issue among the hundreds of thousands of American teenagers who play high school sports.

In South Carolina, for example, Rep. Ashley Trantham said she knew of no transgender athletes competing in the state and was proposing a ban to prevent possible problems in the future. Otherwise, she said during a recent hearing, “the next generation of female athletes in South Carolina may not have a chance to excel.”

In Tennessee, House Speaker Cameron Sexton conceded there may not actually be transgender students now participating in middle and high school sports; he said a bill was necessary so the state could be “proactive.”

Some lawmakers didn’t respond to AP’s queries. Others in places like Mississippi and Montana largely brushed aside the question or pointed to a pair of runners in Connecticut. Between 2017 and 2019, transgender sprinters Terry Miller and Andraya Yearwood combined to win 15 championship races, prompting a lawsuit.

Supporters of transgender rights say the Connecticut case gets so much attention from conservatives because it’s the only example of its kind.

...

There’s no authoritative count of how many trans athletes have competed recently in high school or college sports. Neither the NCAA nor most state high school athletic associations collect that data; in the states that do collect it, the numbers are minimal: No more than five students currently in Kansas, nine in Ohio over five years.

It's also important to note that in the Connecticut case,:

Quote

... two days after the Connecticut lawsuit was filed by the cisgender girls’ families, one of those girls beat one of the transgender girls named in the lawsuit in a Connecticut state championship. It turns out that when transgender girls play on girls’ sports teams, cisgender girls can win. In fact, the vast majority of female athletes are cisgender, as are the vast majority of winners. There is no epidemic of transgender girls dominating female sports.

Caitlyn Jenner's opinion isn't worth more because she's trans. She's not a very good human being to begin with (as @sl1pstream pointed out) and she's something of an idiot. She has zero chance of being elected governor.

Isn't that what they said about Arnold?  :)  Btw, the amount of male to female trans playing sports is not very high now, but considering the lucrative nature of it as to getting full ride scholarships, etc., it could become more of an issue, and the few examples that are out there show there is a major competitive advantage for those going this route.

Well there was a real difference with the recall then. Gray Davis was desperately unpopular and his approval ratings were in the tank, and California was not as much of a Democratic stronghold then as now. Newsom's ratings are well above 50% at the moment, and we have a budget surplus of about $15 billion for the next fiscal year. Schools are reopening, even here in LA. Gas prices are high, yes, and unemployment is higher than the national average, but the unemployment rates will drop as we open more (LA County is expected to go into yellow tier on Wednesday -- fingers crossed). Newsom messed up with the French Laundry thing, but that is receding as the state continues to improve in terms of reopening.

So while a recall election will happen (unless something crazy happens), that doesn't mean he'll be replaced. Getting past the first question on the ballot -- should he be recalled? -- is the hard part. Last I read it was something like only 38-40% in polling who agree with that. Schwarzenegger was a decent governor -- I never voted for him but I think he did a good job. He was a shock but he is a smart, savvy man. He surrounded himself with people who were intelligent and willing to think creatively. There was a lot of bipartisanship going on because he knew he had to be a bipartisan to win enough support to be reelected. Caitlyn Jenner is a celebrity who is a total dum-dum beyond being an amazing athlete in her younger days. If -- and it won't happen, but if -- any Republican will be elected, it will be one of the "serious" candidates. Jenner is not popular in California like Schwarzenegger was at the time.
