Case Complete (DQ) to Interview June 2021

Hi everyone!

I wanted to share what we are currently going through in hopes someone out there could help us as this is starting to get really difficult.

I've been following this thread since August when our case was DQ! We're currently waiting to be scheduled for an interview at US Embassy Abu Dhabi.

Since the beginning of this year, each month we wait and hope for an IL as DQs around our date and even AFTER have been scheduled. This is our 5th round of ILs waiting and again..nothing :(

On Tuesday ILs went out for our Embassy. Cases with DQ dates from December 2020-March 2021 were scheduled for interviews in June (not expedited). I don't know how they can be scheduling DQs from 2 months ago when ours is over 9 months ago and still waiting?? I don't know what is going on as NVC supposedly schedules in order for DQ?

I'm completely deflated and lost on what to do at this point! I've reached out MULTIPLE times to both the Embassy and NVC. Neither have helped at all and I always get the same responses (your case is DQ and in line/your case is at NVC so wait till your scheduled from them).

If anyone has any advice or knows of anything I can do, please let me know! I also know of a few other cases (not on VJ) that are going through the same thing and we are all baffled! I have also just found another thread where someone from Ireland posted going through the same thing.

I totally understand that there has been delays and backlogs and everything with COVID but I believe there has to be some other issue when interviews are being scheduled monthly at our Embassy but we are left waiting for months while others breeze by?

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Sorry that this is happening to you and others despite what NVC says about scheduling interviews in the order that cases complete processing.

Just curious - are the other cases you have heard about the same visa category? Are there any other differences that you know of (e.g. beneficiary is UAE citizen vs. citizen of other country, etc.)? Trying to think whether there might be any method to the madness, although it’s all speculation as usual.

Mexico has been assigning interviews starting today, but 2 or 3 days ago people started receiving an "expedite approved" email and I mean people who did not expedite and still got that email, so it looks like the Consulate is automatically "expediting" some cases without people actually requesting it. First time seeing this! interesting...

So you folks got ILs for CR1/IR1 interviews in June at Mexico's consulate?

Canada here and we haven't seen ILs for June interviews yet... it's been 42 days from the last ILs on April 9th for May interviews.

yes only seen a couple so far, and it only started this week, these people only have 2 weeks before their interview instead of the regular timeframe of 4 weeks.

Also.... these are Cases Closed in August-September 2019, so needless to say everyone is desperate to get their interview letter

Sorry about the long wait at CA 😪 this was a weird month everywhere I think

It's truly awful having to wait without knowing what's happening and how much more we need to wait.

It looks like Mexico, Canada, and UK are in a similar situation, either no ILs or very little ILs for June.

Phew!!! I was scared for a moment there!!+

Lagos looks to still be scheduling and issuing 3 times the number than Ghana

every month that goes by that only 5% of DQ applicants backlog is worked through is essentially just another full month tacked on to 15 month since closure.  Especially for embassies that were already difficult to get the pre-pandemic

Hi everyone, we have our interview on June 1st in Bogota. My mom is the joint sponsor. Does anyone know if the signature on the i864 affidavit of support has to be original? She signed it in the US and then sent me a scan of the document. Thank you.

It shouldn't matter. That should be fine.

We have not seen any IL issued here in Canada either.

I see ILs were issued in Columbia, so NVC seems to be still working.

Are many countries experiencing a delay in ILs for June right now?

Yes. Irish candidates heard on 18 May for June appts. Annoyingly, some of those who heard on the 18th were DQ’d AFTER ours (we were Dec. 4; they were Feb 2021).

I got DQ on the 3 of December 2020.Five months gone without any information from NVC or the Embassy. It is really frustrating.

Same here. We were the 4th. apparently some people who were DQd in February 2021 got appointments ahead of us. Genuinely at a loss with how that happened?! NVC of course was no help and just said “you’re in the queue”.

Also it should be noted I am over 21 and is protected under CSPA.

Does anyone know if we should upload the updated documents to CEAC before the interview? (i864 for example)

I do not know if we have to bring it in print form or if we should upload to CEAC.

We haven't been assigned an interview yet but getting close, we are trying to have all our docs ready. Thanks!
