Congratulations! Hoping that means mine will also happen any day now!

Same, I'm also processed via Potomac. Good to at least see some movement.

Well, friends, it's been 32.5 months (the exact processing time currently given for form I-751 on the USCIS website) and I'm pleased to say that as of February 1st, 2024, my case has FINALLY been approved. No interview, no RFI, nothing. Truly cannot believe how long this took. Are there any others still waiting?

Congratulations!!!  The N-400 process is much easier (if you decide to go that route).  I'm not sure what the record is for I-751 processing, but after 40 months of waiting, my wife filed her N-400.  Four months later the I-751 and N-400 were both approved after a combo interview.  We, also, had no RFEs or rejections. Again, congratulations!!!

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Thank you! Wow, 40 months is absolutely insane. I actually filed my N-400 back in November 2022 (after ~18 months waiting) in the hopes it would speed the I-751 along. What actually happened was this: I was called in for my N-400 interview in June 2023, but when I showed up at the Baltimore Field Office, they told me they couldn't process it until the I-751 had been approved by Potomac Service Center. I've been waiting to hear anything ever since. I'm hoping the N-400 process will be automatically revived now, and I'll be able to get my citizenship this year. 🤞

I’m thinking I’ll give the Baltimore Field Office a month or two to take action independently on the N-400, but that would be my next move if the case seems to have stalled.

Hi May21 filers, I filed with YSC and received a RFE this week, and it seems they are asking for three things. And based on the list they said they received from me in initial submission, it seems it is not a complete list of things I sent to them.

I am not sure if anyone else has received RFE recently? I really need some help and guidance here.

In RFE, they ask me to provide financial documents, which I provided our joint checking account statements before.

And asked for 2021 and 2022 tax returns and asked me to explain why we choose Married File Separately.

And provide proof that we live in the same address, which I provided driving license, and bank statements, and insurance before, and also our mortgage statement.

I am not sure what else I can provide to them?

I am planning to provide the following documents as a response to the RFE, any suggestion is much appreciated. Thank you.

1. 2021, 2022 tax return
2. 2021,2022, 2023 bank statements - joint checking account
3. 2021, 2022, 2023 mortgage statement - with both our names
4. 2022, 2023 Geico Insurance ID card - with both our names
5. 2021, 2022, 2023 - 1098 Mortgage Interest Statements
6. Deed of Conveyance - (which I actually provided in initial submission)
7. 2021, 2022, 2023 Washington Gas Monthly statements
8. Flight tickets and boarding pass for multiple trips in 2021, 2022, 2023
9. Photos taken during the above Trips
10. Affidavit from a close couple who grew up with my husband, and has known us before we get married.
11. A letter explain why we file tax married separately.

Hi ST_RO, I also received RFE, can I talk to you and get some guidance on the RFE? I am upset after such a long wait, they asked me for RFE. I think they are asking me to provide things I provided before. :(

@CCCCCF the statements you submitted initially, did they have all pages in them? If there wasn't a question why you filed separately, I'd assume they're asking for evidence purely because it got a bit old and they wanted fresh evidence. Give the strongest response you can with evidence and hopefully you'll get approved.

Thanks. The statements I submitted initially had all pages in them, but I only provided like 3 months statements, as back then I thought I have provided very strong evidence, bank statement is only a small piece. Maybe that's the reason why they asked again?

I am not sure, but I just plan to include all evidence I have after 2021 May, and hopefully that will be sufficient for them to approve the case.

Bank statements IS one of the most important documents USCIS wants to see. They want to see comingling finances on a daily basis, not just jointly filed taxes or even property. Send everything you have. I sent everything from start of marriage since I-751 instructions ask for it.

Thank you for this information.

I will definitely include everything I have. I didn't realize that they care about bank statements so much.
