Getting something from USCIS in the mail today. Online the case status still shows as "fingerprints were taken". Although we are at the Texas Service Center, I have a feeling it might be a new version of my husband's extension letter.

Confirmed to be a new extension letter for 24 months. Dated November 8th

I received the same extension letter yesterday from SRC, Texas, dated November 9th.

I also still don't have any updates online, so I am not really relying on the online status anymore since my still says case received, even though I have received a biometric waiver letter and now this extension letter.

I have something coming in the mail from YSC Potomac Service Center today. Online status hasn’t updated (from “fingerprints taken”), and it would be super early to expect any change, so I’m guessing it’s the extension letter. YSC May filers, keep an eye on the mail in the next few days/weeks!

Update - it was the 24 month extension letter. The printer must have been almost out of ink because the letter is extremely faded and difficult to read in places. NOT pleased that they’d be so cavalier about such an important document, but not surprised, either.

I’m glad I saw you post this. I just filed at the beginning of this month, got my 24 month extension letter from YSC this past week, and thought the same exact thing! Parts of it are so fuzzy/blurry looking.

I’m sorry to hear you’ve also experienced this. I’m sure it’ll be fine as long as the key sections are legible - it’s just frustrating when we’ve put so much work into the application and USCIS can’t even be bothered to change a printer cartridge for something this important!

Filed I-751 on May 21, 2021.  NOA and 18-month extension was received from MSC on June 3.  The updated 24-month extension letter was finally received on December 18th, 2021, extending the green card to August 19, 2023.  Biometrics appointment was back on August 8, 2021, in Atlanta, but there has been no update on the USCIS case status online to reflect the fact that biometrics have been done.  One issue is a slight spelling error on the last name, on the biometrics 797C, and on both 797 extension letters.  Biometrics said not to worry about it.  Just filed an online typographical error request via the USCIS online account.  Hopefully this will lead to a correction and matching of the initial I-751 package with the biometrics and extension letters based on the same A number, and will not cause any problems down the road.  It's amazing how careless USCIS staff are!  Still waiting, like everyone else, for an interview letter but that seems unlikely until later this year or maybe 2023 the way things are going.  VJ approval estimates for an ROC interview that come in periodically via email bounce around all over the calendar, one recently estimated October of 2022, another June of 2023.  The plan is to file an N-400 for naturalization in May of this year when the three-year window opens.  Wishing everyone the best for a good year in 2022!

I checked online case status and saw this message today.  If there are any others waiting for an ROC interview in Atlanta, can you share how long it took?  Weeks?  Months, from this status update to receiving the interview letter?

Yes my friend. I hope for that too. Without hesitance I will apply for Citizenship in April, regardless of interview status.

It is very unsure as My local Office would be Irving (Dallas), TX and when appointment will be available. I will predict 2-3 months.
