@Viridian I would say that USCIS Processing times provided by USCIS on the USCIS website are a better indicator. USCIS has access to all petitions submitted. VJ does not.

This is true - but another difference is that VJ is updated in real time, whereas USCIS data (according to their website) is always at least 2 months out of date. I've seen speculation that processing times will speed up under the new administration, and I'm hoping that the new VJ estimate is an indication that that's beginning to happen. Still, until USCIS updates their own numbers to show shorter processing times, I won't hold my breath.

Biometrics waived. The case status updated on June 8th -about a month after they received my file- to show that fingerprints were taken, and I received the waiver in the mail today, June 14th (dated on the 8th).

@Viridian, I see your point. USCIS updates processing times quarterly - I think. With VJ, though, you are relying on people updating their timelines and data points. That aside you also have fewer data points. I, for instance, have not updated mine.

Either way, it looks like we're in for a long wait with Potomac. We are OK with that. My husband will likely apply for naturalization as soon as he is eligible.

May I ask if the status change online if biometrics is waived?

I applied on 5/28/21 NOA1 date 6/04/21

CR1

applying from NY

case number starts with MSC

When can i expect to receive the biometrics letter? Does it take one month? 3 months? 6 months ?  On what basis some peoples biometric is waived and some are not?

MSC is terribly slow in sending out biometric appointment letters... could be a while before you hear from them unfortunately. January filers still haven't gotten their letters (unless they haven't updated the spreadsheet). My understanding is that if you had your biometric done for AoS, they use that data and waive it. For CR1, you probably haven't done biometric yet in one of their centers? They will have you do an interview on-site, so maybe they want a new/fresh biometric data to pair up with your application and evidence.

Silly question but keeps me wondering about letters from Texas service centers

Did your extension envelope use first class or international stamp(top right corner)?

@CCCCCF LOL, it is difficult to count the number of Cs in your username when mentioning you. My status changed to "Case Was Updated To Show Fingerprints Were Taken". It's Potomac YSC, though. It's movement, at least.

It's interesting because people who've been waiting for 20 months at Potomac are now getting the same update. We shall see. :)

Clearly, the texas center is doing something that everyone should be doing. I wonder how long it will take other centers to figure that out and implement it.

Hi, I’m a curious June filer. I have sent my I-751 which was received today. Is there any Las Vegas filers who received another Service Center aside from WAC? Most (if not all) from CA/Las Vegas cases are sent to WAC (probably location I’m assuming). I did receive an interview pre-covid for K1 AOS.

We are always under assumption work load is spread but I question that as WAC is relatively slow and yet most from Las Vegas and California are sent there. Just seeking clarification but I guarantee I will be mostly likely be assigned to WAC. I’ll even update the centre when I get my case number 🤣
