Covid 2020 - Lack of photo proof for ROC ?

Hi Everyone

I am in the process of prepping for my ROC app late this year. As we all know, the country got hit hard by Covid during 2020. We are really cautious people so we have barely gone out, even to local places. Even now :D. Our families live really far away so we have not been able to visit them either. As a result, I only have so many selfies, compared to great photos outdoor taken in 2019 (when I arrived). On top of that, the pandemic sort of severed my ability to go out and make friends in the country. I just started working late 2020 so I have not known anyone well enough beside my spouse. As far as I am concerned,  USCIS asks for affidavits from 2 friends. So with all the background information, can you  please help me answer these two question:

1/Will it be a bit bad if USCIS sees good photos taken in 2019  and then only selfies after that? Our other evidence is pretty strong.

2/Can we just ask two friends of my spouse for affidavit or either of 2 must be my friend?

Thanks a lot in advance!

Photos are nice to have, but not all that important.  Just include what you have.  Affidavits are mostly useless, and many people don't bother including any.  Focus on providing evidence for living together and for taking responsibility for each other — joint residence, joint property, joint financial accounts, life insurance with your spouse as the benificiary, power of attorney ...

I did not submit any pictures or affidavits with my ROC and got approved without issues. Those types of evidence are not as strong as other evidence. If you have good evidence of comingling of finances and living together (bank statements, insurance, lease, etc.), I would not worry about pictures or affidavits.

You are concentrating on the wrong kind of evidence.  Photos are of little use.  Including only a few is fine.  You should concentrate on evidence of shared finances, shared property, and other legal documents normally generated in a marriage......and items showing you both living at the same address.   Personal affidavits are weak evidence, unless you have no substantial documentation.  There is no requirement for them.
