I am new to the site, and well to the process as well.  I have been trying to find a place to get all the information I can to ensure that I don't make mistakes.  But I have so many questions.  Not sure who I could turn to talk to about this.  I joined here hoping I can find the issues I have talked about here, or to ask questions, and maybe get help.

Basic info:

I am an American citizen by birth.  I am looking to bring my Fiance from Colombia to here so I can spend my life with her (though she is from Venezuela) and I am having some issues with filling out the form, and what all to put with my I-129F.

Issues:

She doesn't have some address due to her family living on a farm in Venezuela, and there isn't an address.  I have done some searching and there isn't a normal address system for Venezuela, so I am not sure what to do.

There is more, but this is my first hurtle.  So starting to look into this.  Probably not where I should put this, but as it says in the Title, I am new.

If your fiancee lives in Colombia, she'll be interviewed there, so use the address where she currently resides. The rest of the places where she's resided, you should use the local adress system and input as much info as you can, such as state, municipality and town.

Remember that for the K1visa, the most important thing is providing evidence of meeting in person at least once in the last 2 years.

Thank you, but basically all I can input is the city and country.  That is it.  Won't it cause issues with blanks?  I know her current address, I just hate making mistakes.  Thank you for your help.

You can include the region and the zip code. This site might help you.

Thank you, I am new to all of this.   I have been searching, is there like a "checklist" of what to include, along with optional for the packet to turn in?  I have been searching and I can't seem to find a checklist.  That is my next step, to find a list.

I found a site that has something I am not sure if it applies.  This is what it says:

Quote

Documents from the sponsored fiance

  • A printout of their Form DS-160 confirmation page. The sponsored fiance must print their DS-160 confirmation page to bring to the visa interview.
  • Their valid passport. The passport must be valid for at least six months after their intended period of stay in the U.S. (unless their country-specific agreements provide say otherwise).
  • Their birth certificate. This must be their official birth certificate issued by a government agency in the country where they were born.
  • Official proof that their previous marriages have ended. This includes things like divorce, annulment, or death certificate(s) for all former spouses.
  • Police certificates from the country where they currently live and all countries where they have lived for six months or more since they were 16 years old. You can get a police clearance certificate from the relevant authority in each country. The U.S. Department of Status ("DoS") explains how to get police clearance certificates from each country on its website. On the DoS website, select the first letter of the country’s name, select the country, and click on the “Police, Court, Prison Records” tab.
  • Their sealed medical examination records. The sponsored fiance will get these records from a doctor abroad who is authorized by the State Department (a "panel physician") during their required immigration medical exam. The U.S. Embassy or Consulate handling the case will send information about this examination a few weeks after receiving the DS-160. The U.S. State Department provides helpful info about the Medical Examination Process on its website.
  • Two passport-style photos. The sponsored fiance must provide two passport-style photos that meet the photograph requirements explained on the State Department's website.

The part about the Police certificates, I can't find it anywhere else.  Is this something that is required?

Thank you, but do you have to get a copy of police reports even if both of you have no records?  I am so confused on this.

Yes it is required. The Police Report will indicate that information.

Yes, they're needed for the embassy interview, that you will schedule once the I-129f is approved.

Right now, you need to focus on filling the I-129f and compiling the evidence.

You're at least a year or more out from needing to worry about that. Won't be needed until she has an interview booked.

My fiance doesn't have a physical address either. I just put the area, district, and parish in Jamaica. They use PO Boxes for mail so everything is routed by using this information. My paperwork was received and thus far has not been rejected.

1. Evidence of having met physically within 2 years of you sending the I-129F petition

2. A brief letter explaining how you met.  Basically to ensure you did not meet via an international marriage broker.  If you actually did meet via a marriage broker, then additional proof that the marriage broker followed specific guidelines when they introduced the two of you.

3. Letters of intent to marry within 90 days of her arriving in the US on a K1 visa, signed by both of you.  Can be one letter or 2 separate letters.

4. Your proof of citizenship (passport bio page, US birth certificate, or naturalization certificate)

5. Color passport photos of you and your fiance taken within the last 30 days.

6. Evidence of being free to marry (optional - only applies if one or both of you were married before.  Need divorce certificates of all previous marriages, or death certificates of previous spouses)

7. Optional - engagement ring photos, receipts

8. Optional - relationship evidence (photos of being with each other, meeting each other's family, etc.)  Only if you want to front-load the I-129F for the embassy interview.

If any family members still live at the farm, she could ask if they have a document with some formal designation like a lot number.

If not they may have used an informal address, like 2 miles south of town square.   It’s not unusual and I would just use the best information you can.

While recently reading I-130, it stated that if physical the address is unknown, leave it blank. Maybe the same applies to your case with I-129F @Tronwolverine

However, if she was using/ has P.O Boxes, then you can input that in because that is a valid address.

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.
