Hi folks,

I received an email from NVC on March 31st that my case was expedited. Since April 1st my status is “Ready”.

I’m still waiting for London embassy contact me with the interview appointment information.

I tried to contact London embassy by form, but only automatic replied.

Anybody with the same problem? Is it normal to wait that much?

The embassy in London will not assign your interview.  In cases like K1 fiancé’s,  DCF filing spouses, and expedites,  where the NVC does not dole out an interview date, the visa applicant must arrange their own date. Even if you have not received mail from the embassy saying they have your file, the status of “ready” indicates you are a GO to carry on. You don’t need the actual letter for anything.

 Go to this page https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/family-immigration/how-to-apply-2/

Find the steps listed and follow the instructions that look like this:

Note: Most people do not attend their medical prior to picking an interview date from the calendar. Book an interview date, then make a medical appointment that will be a week or more before the interview. Get on it NOW to have your medical appointment things in place so you are ready for the visa medical prior to booking. NHS can be slow to help you with documentation.

For more on the calendar of interview dates, read this thread for some current insight. Just the calendar part, not their struggles with reactivating their DS-160. https://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/761961-schduelling-an-interview-at-london-embassy/

My visa is EB-3.

I tried to schedule an interview, but I don’t know what option is the right one, as I haven’t received a email/letter from the embassy or got an appointment yet.

Please select the condition that applies to you:

I have received a Consular interview appointment date from the National Visa Center (NVC), Kentucky Consular Center (KCC), or the Consular Section and I have been instructed to register my appointment on this site.

I have received a letter/email from the consular section with instructions to register or schedule a K (Fiancé(e)/Spouse/Child) visa appointment.

I have received a letter/email from the consular section with instructions to schedule an immigrant visa appointment.

I am a returning U.S. Legal Permanent Resident (LPR) and require re-entry authorization to the United States.

None of the above

Completing your profile would be useful to those replying to your questions. Visa type, embassy, etc.

I don’t know much specific to an EB3 case, but I would choose

“I have received a letter/email from the consular section with instructions to schedule an immigrant visa appointment.”

If it works, then you are ahead and not sitting around waiting on a letter that may not ever arrive. It happens. As I said before, the embassy is not going to send you an appointment. They are supposed to send you a letter saying we have your file, go to our website and find your instructions here https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/family-immigration/how-to-apply-2/ You are not going to have to show that letter at any point in the process. It simply tells you where to find your instructions on their website.

Info for what to get in place first so you are prepared before making your medical appointment.
You could get offered an appointment within the week you call and gathering what you need to bring doesn’t happen that quickly.  See the list of what to bring to your medical here https://visamedicals.co.uk/united-states/

I would deal with medical pre-preparation before even looking for an interview date on the calendar.

Is there any update as to if this worked? We are also waiting on our interview for EB-3.

Thanks,

Kyle

Does your ceac status say “ready”?

It’s also possible that London is transitioning into interviews other than spouse visas and are holding back access (or telling you in a letter how to access) the interview calendar while they adjust staffing back into the office. Usually a status of “ready” means your case is set up and ready to pick a date.

Embassy sent my expedite notice by post to my sponsor in US.

That’s why it took so long.

After 6 days trying, finally I got my interview scheduled. May 26th

Did you wait til your status in CEAC became “Ready” before scheduling an appointment? Thank you.
