Where does one find one, then?

How long does a used one need to be in inventory before one can play hardball with the sales dept.?

There isnt any playing hard ball right now. If you find something you like and it's in book value go for it.

If you dont have to have a vehicle right now, wait

I see Ford is looking at a 50% drop in production for 2nd quarter due to the chip shortage.

Glad I got a new vehicle last year.

speaking of markets. Now is not the time to purchase a vehicle. Especially used cars. Market Values are stupid right now. My 2020 Tundra with 16K miles is worth more than I paid for it new, including taxes. I have never seen anything like it.

A 2014 4WD Tacoma with 103k MILES is priced under book at 27K. I have been in the biz 6 years and never seen anything like it.

We have a 2019 CX 5 coming off lease , I guess we can buy it and trade it in at a profit.

Just FYI you can purchase the vehicle directly from whoever financed it. That way you avoid dealer fees. Also if you purchase from the dealer you will pay estimated value not the residual. If the car is worth more than the residual it might make sense to buy it, and then trade it in

Yes indeed as I told Dashinka your vehicle may be worth more than the residual.  Mazda does fairly well on retained values. Sounds like you got it figured out.

  • The S&P 500 posted better returns in Biden's first 100 days than under any president since World War II.
  • JPMorgan analysts said the rise was due to record fiscal and monetary stimulus.
  • The analysts said they thought tax increases wouldn't hurt market returns as much as anticipated.

As many economists predicted, the stock market needs stability more than it needs instable geniuses.

Speaking of cars, Toyota is playing around with hydrogen internal combustion: none of the CO2 and all of the rumble and roar. No word on whether those roarmaker mufflers will be standard at the factory.

Toyota built an internal combustion engine that sips hydrogen, and it sounds awesome

Japanese auto giant Toyota is working on a new-age hydrogen vehicle. When the words Toyota and Hydrogen are in the same sentence, the hydrogen-powered Toyota Mirai comes to mind. Still, the Mirai is a hydrogen-electric car or FCEV (fuel-cell electric vehicle). It uses hydrogen fuel to convert electricity and power an onboard electric motor. This time, Toyota came up with something different.

When I went to get the loan for the car in order to buy it from the lease the residual is $17k and the KBB is $22k right now
