Hello all,

I recently became a US citizen. I wanna bring my mum and younger brother here. What are the steps? What should I do?
Thanks,

You can petition for your mother.  It will take about 12-24 months for her to get an immigrant visa.  Derivative beneficiaries are not allowed when a USC petitions a parent, so only your mother will qualify for an immigrant visa.

You can file a separate petition for your brother.  It will take 15-20+ years for him to get an immigrant visa depending on which country he's from.

If your brother is single, then your mother can file for him when she becomes a green card holder.  How long it will take will depend on his age.

How old is your brother?  What country is he from?

There is no way for your mother and brother to immigrate together.

Once your mother becomes an LPR, she can file a separate petition for her unmarried son over age 21.  Currently, that is take 7 years for an immigration visa.  Your brother must stay single throughout the entire process.  Marriage at any point before he arrives in the US on an immigration visa will void his eligibility.
