I read another person’s post they did a C-1 got married on Zoom but it was finished beginning to end in like 6 months. Anyone think I should switch? Fiancé lives in Brazil

Zoom wedding requires consummation after the ceremony for it to be recognized.   This means you need to be face to face at some point after before you can petition.   Is this something you can do?

That person got really lucky with a quick immigration process.  The average time to process a CR-1 spousal visa is 12-24 months.

After a Zoom wedding that meets all the legal requirements, you would have to meet afterwards.  Meetings before the Zoom wedding does not count.  You have to be able to show that you met after the Zoom wedding in order to file the I-130 petition.

If you decide to switch, it's a gamble.  No one can tell you whether it's a good idea or not with any actual knowledge about anything.  It would be purely gut feelings or guesses.

No, it does not count. You guys simply had sex, which was consummating your romantic relationship. That's not the same as consummating your marriage. You need to be married first in order consummate the marriage..If you guys can't meet, then you guys need to wait. It is what it is.

Brazil is not restricting travel? I was there about a month ago, and will be returning in September. I do recommend you are fully vaccinated before you go, I had no issues other than finding a place to get a covid test 3 days before I returned. I can help you with the info if you want. But travel there is not an issue. I was in Rio, not sure if you are going to the same area or not.

Here on a K1? Need married and a Certificate in hand within a few hours? I'm here to help. Come to Vegas and I'll marry you Vegas style!!   Visa Journey members are always FREE for my services. I know the costs involved in this whole game of immigration, and if I can save you some money I will!
