Steps After I797/NOA2

Hi everyone.

So this week, I've received a letter from USCIS titled I797 saying my application for I130 is approved and is transferred to NVC

And two days later I've also received an email from NVC start with "Thank you for your interest in immigrating to the United States of America.".

I got some questions regarding further actions, explanations will be sincerely appreciated.

1. Is the I797 = NOA2 letter?

2. Does that email from NVC that contains my new case number and invoice number = the Welcome Letter? I suppose that Welcome letter should include anything additional documents that I need to submit to them (the I864 etc.) but it didn't say anything about the documents that I owned. So this email is not the "packet" supposed to be sent out to me right?

3. Does that mean I can start paying NVC the fee and start filling out the I864 by login to CEAC with those case numbers?

4. I've also heard there's need to collect fingerprints, is it for me or both my wife and I? IF I travel abroad to visit my wife soon, can that be done at the consultant/embassy in China?

5. Also according to the Pre-Interview forms list, it's also asking for OF169, OF230, birth certificate and police certificates, are those needed from me or my beneficiary or both? I'm a naturalized citizen of US, is it okay to use my naturalization certificate?

Please help

Thank you very much.

If the email contains the bits of information you need to login to CEAC, you do not need the physical letter.

It is for the the spouse that will be immigrating.  normally these are taken around the time of the medical exam and interview.

At the interview, the civil forms that are needed are ones for the beneficary.
