Help Help Help

I received my I-751 package back yesterday because I wrote the wrong date on the check. I have no idea why I wrote 5/16/21 instead of 3/16/21 🤦‍♂️.  The whole package returned with date stamped  on all pages on I-751and documents and indicated the following one of the page from USCIS.

-since your submission was rejected, it is not considered properly filled.

-you must meet all requirements as of the date of the new filing

-please review the relevant form instructions to determine if your new filing can be considered as timely filed.

My question is, do I need to complete the new I-751 form with all new documents or I can resend my original package with the new check?

Thanks in advance.

You fix the check, date and amount and resend the package. My friend made a mistake when filing he did not put the proper amount which was $680 his package was resent after 3 months with stamps and dates on each pages, he fixed his check and resent the package, he now has his 180 days extension letter pending biographics.

Thanks Lucky Cat /mniceguy16
so I don’t have to complete the new I751 and don’t need to provide new Evidence or Documents of our marriage?

mniceguy16 - I am afraid they changed the processing because of COVID-19. Does this happened to your friend in 2021?

You can add new evidence if you want.  However, I would send the package back ASAP....with a correct check.

Yes, send back right away, the only difference would now be if the i751 is now late, has your conditional green card expired yet?

If your green card expired you would add a letter explaining why you are now filing late. It is no big deal if now late you just need to add an explanation as to why late.

If not late fix the check and refile right away with any new evidence you have. Good luck.

I suggest sending it back ASAP as well with the new check but strongly suggest you review the packet to see if you did anything else incorrect. You don’t want an RFE on top of this. Also- if you forgot to make a copy of your packet before you sent it previously now would be the time to do it

Just curious, did they send it back in the original package that you used?
