Hi guys,

I hope all is enjoying the weekend!

Does anyone know if name change request will delay my oath ceremony date?

How long should I expect an oath ceremony for name change after the interview?

Do you guys think I can still withdraw my name change request after the interview ? How should I do that if I want to withdraw the name change after the interview ?

Will it be the same interviewing immigration officer to administer my oath if I attend a no name change oath ceremony?

I had my interview a week ago. I tried to call USCIS 1-800 number, but was unable to speak to a live representative.

I am really worried my name change request will delay my oath ceremony by several months. I heard they are doing virtual ceremony via Skype for name change request peopld, but the immigration officer refused to tell me how long I should expect for my oath ceremony date.

I reached out to my congressman office and tried to have them to reach out to the local field office for withdrawing name change request . I also used my USCIS account inbox feature to send a message to have them know I want to withdraw my name change request , but unsure if the message will be forward to the local field office .

Thanks

If I'm not mistaken it will depend on where you live. In my district, all naturalization ceremonies are judicial (not administrative), so I presume there is no delay in changing one's name during naturalization here. If you live in an area with both, I presume it will take longer.

Thank you. How long did it take for you to receive the notice of oath ceremony after your n400 interview ? 2 or 3 months or even longer ?

It's been several years so I doubt it's relevant anymore, but it should be somewhere in my post history if you want to check around 2018. I believe it was a few months.

Hello,

I am in a very similar situation. I had interview a few days ago, and I requested to add a middle name. I have changed my mind and I want to withdraw this request. Were you able to solve this? Could you please share the outcome of your situation?? I had my interview in Tampa.

Thank you.

Hello,

I had passed my interview in Jacksonville FL about a month ago. I had requested a name change should it delay my oath ceremony wait time.

how can I withdraw name change request because if it’s delay my oath date I don’t want to do that anymore.

does sending messages to uscis online portal help anything?
