This forum is for people to post questions, comments, concerns experiences, etc. We VJers are all going through the same thing basically - we fell in love with someone from another country, we decided we couldn't live without them, and we started the process of being together. It can be a very stressful process (some more than others), and we should be able to post questions, thoughts, and concerns.

Every person is different, and some people are more open than others and more willing to talk about their problems. Sometimes its easier talking to "strangers" on VJ than actually talking to your own family or friends, especially as it relates to immigration. Michelle feels comfortable on VJ and may want/need to vent, ask for advice, or just get something off her chest. It is nice to get responses back from people who either relate to your own situation, who can lend a sympathetic ear, and/or can offer some advice.

If you feel you have to criticize Michelle for her postings because you feel they are too personal, don't read them! And on top of that do us a favor and don't post your skepticism of her problems or question her story or her husband's sanity in a mean-spirited way. We are all in the same boat people, be nice!!! Remeber the old saying, "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all"? Why can't people abide by this?

you go to a film when you want to escape reality. The reality of this situation is that even though Michelle is happy now, and we all hope things stay that way, something just doesn't seem to add up....and the question is, will they remain happy? Being miserable here for over a year, just wanting to go back home and not knowing if he can ever really make this his home, but then not taking that step to go home to sort his head out. Many people thought that WAS the best thing because then he'd be able to think about how he felt about being here and see that maybe home (the UK one) wasn't the bed of roses he'd been missing. But he didn't take that step, and I wonder if it's because he doesn't want to face some reality...the reality of having to make a decision for once and for all. Who knows, maybe he HAS made that decision...but that's not what we've heard, we've just heard that he can't bear to go home.

Yep....exactly what I am saying...this IS real life...real people with real feelings...and sometimes that gets forgotton when everyone gets 'fed up' with the whole situation and tired of hearing about it. Only they know how they feel and can make changes if needed...if they say they are happy and him not returning to UK was the best thing that happened, why can't we just accept it? We can theorize as much as we like about the relationship but it is their relationship and only they know how it is....if she says they are happy bout the whole thing why can't we say "yay..good on ya" who are we to say they aren't?

sadly, i never thought that... i thought that i was truly being honest and saying what i said... and using the smilies to emphasize my excitement for someone's situation... or just well wishes... hmm, maybe i should re-think the situation...
