N400 - evidence of child support

As a biological father of a child living abroad, I need to prove support of my kid.

My wife has my ATM card and she takes money every month.

USCIS asks for "Canceled checks or money order receipts"

This is digital era, who sends checks abroad and money orders.

I can show all the ATM transactions but how do I prove those transactions were for child support?

  • A notarized letter from the parent or guardian who cares for your child(ren)
Will a notarized statement of my wife suffice here?

Do you have a court order showing the amount you are to be paying? That way you can match the bank statements to the court order.

Definitely get the letter.

When It comes to child support checks are indeed much better. It shows a better record of the payments. I have a friend who was paying child support. More then he was required by law. One day his ex came after him saying he didn't pay. They went back after him from day 1 10's of thousands. All because he didn't use checks to pay her with.

While overseas I maintained a UK bank account. I’d transfer money from my US account to the UK bank then direct debit to the mother of my son. I printed out statements from that account and supplied these as evidence.

I’ve since closed that account and PayPal her directly from here. I’ve printed these statements showing funds going to her.

Yes a notarized letter would have been nice but she didn’t want to send me one so you can only work with what you have.

I am legally married and authorized my wife to use my ATM card overseas. There is no court order.

I can show ATM transactions placed in another country month to month,  and I can have a notarized statement from my wife.

I do not see if I can do anything more here.

Wondering if it will even be raised considering you are both still married and have no court order.

Did you use this evidence while applying online or at the interview ? I might be needing one too . I also did transfer money from my us bank account to see  my South African bank account snd pay all necessary bills from it . Will have to print out the statement when the time comes

If you’re not divorced under court order that question doesnt apply to you

Completely missed the "my wife" part so sorry. Then yes the child support question will not apply.
