i do know not allowed in take off

I’ve only ever done car seat (and sometimes business class) with my kids. Much safer and can be used during take off and landing which is of course when all babies sleep.

No baby sleeper allowed at take off and landing only during cruising time. They also take it off if turbulent flight. Best to have baby in flight approved car seat and give the baby pacifier or milk to drink during ascent so ears pop.

So do you mean purchase an additional seat for the baby and put the carseat in that seat?

Yes, that's what we've always done - starting at baby's 6 weeks travel overseas.

Not CEB-LAX, only MBL-LAX. It is a long haul but it's only slightly longer than HKG-LAX or TPE-LAX and it's only one flight which is very nice. Board, fly, land, done.

I been flying in CEB for sometime and it certainly has not.   I've been waiting and was excited to hear the announcement to begin service probably in late 2019 but then the pandemic hit.

Sorry I was thinking MNL to LAX.... That is my bad y'all

With a layover somewhere.  Avoid any airport in China.  Incheon is a great airport to change planes.

PAL was supposed to begin direct to LAX but not sure if its running due to the pandemic.

PAL has been doing direct flight from LAX/MNL for decades

PAL used to fly out of Las Vegas that one would land in either Guam or Canada to refuel you had to get off and go to a lounge are for the passengers of the flight, but PAL quit serving Vegas around 2011 time frame

Check your reading skills.   We were referring to CEBU

YMMV

CebuPac would only be late and cancel flights, I wouldn't trust them on a long route like that.

Stick with PAL if and when you need to get there

What part of the statement that  PAL had announced the CEB to LAX flight are you not understanding?  You might be well served to actually read the posts

YMMV

Has anybody had their fiance fly over to the US once the K-1 was issued with an infant baby?

Any experiences you would like to share or tips? I can't imagine doing the trip with a baby and no other help.

The route would be Cebu City to LAX or SFO.

Thanks

My wife (fiance at the time) flew from Manila to San Fransisco via PAL in late January. It was more expensive to take the non-stop route but I felt it would better for the both of them. No getting on/off the plane, no layovers and much faster trip. She said the people on the plane were very helpful since she was alone and there was no problems getting bags as there were people to help getting on and off.

Did she put your baby on her lap on the plane? Also, did she use a stroller?

Thanks

She had a small stroller that she used in the airport. They take it right when you board the plane and stow it for you. When you get to your destination its returned as you get off the plane to the ramp.

She did not use a carrier but was fortunate the seat beside her was empty otherwise he would have had to stay in her lap the entire way.

Most airlines say that if you want to use a carrier that you bring aboard, you must purchase a ticket for the seat.

Good to know, I think I'll try the shortest route possible but will need 1 layover in either Manila or Taiwan

I was juiced for that direct flight from LAX to CEB, too. 🙃

Actually, there have been talks for years (last 5-6 years) of CEB doing direct to the US flights.  The original plan was for a MNL to Honolulu flight and then expanding off of that, MNL to LAX or SFO, CEB to LAX or SFO, etc.  As usual, things were taking much longer than normal just to get approval on the MNL to Honolulu flight.

https://centreforaviation.com/analysis/reports/cebu-pacific-long-haul-part-2-australia-and-hawaii-expansion-as-a330-utilisation-rates-increase-220861

At times they would use the widebody A330-300 on the MNL to Singapore flights and I couldnt imagine flying one of those on a long haul to Hawaii or mainland US.  About 3-3.5 hours is about as long as I could take with the uncomfortable seats, no flight entertainment, etc.

Depending how travel opens up after the pandemic, you may see this idea brought back up but my guess is its going to be years again.

The United States is now a country obsessed with the worship of its own ignorance.  Americans are proud of not knowing things.  They have reached a point where ignorance, is an actual virtue.  To reject the advice of experts is to assert autonomy, a way for Americans to insulate their increasingly fragile egos from ever being told they're wrong about anything.  It is a new Declaration of Independence: no longer do we hold these truths to be self-evident, we hold all truths to be self-evident, even the ones that arent true.  All things are knowable and every opinion on any subject is as good as any other.  The fundamental knowledge of the average American is now so low that it has crashed through the floor of "uninformed", passed "misinformed", on the way down, and now plummeting to "aggressively wrong."
