I’ve tried several attempts at an expedite because of my son and his health, wanting him to receive care in the US instead, and because of the state departments warning for American’s not to be in Colombia. I’ve contacted my congressman who never responded back. I’m thinking of trying again for another expedite but include my “essential worker” ,  as well as my mothers battle with cancer in it.

Is there any logic as to who gets approved for an expedite? I’ve read people getting approved for an expedite for lesser reasons. Trying to figure out what I can do since Bogota seems to have no interest in taking more cases from the NVC

State Dept currently has a warning for most of the world so I am not sure that has much impact, Who is the American in Colombia? Why can that American not return home?

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

The USC is the son for my fiance and I. I would like him and his mother to come so we can be together for his medical treatment. For me to bring him to the US, I need my fiancé’s permission since she can’t go with him, it’s a bit of a process here because child kidnapping is common.

Expedite for health reasons is more likely to be granted for the USC not the person migrating. They might still expedite for humanitarian reasons.

I was wanting an expedite for us to stay together and for her to be with us if I can get him treatment in the US.

Does she have a visitor visa?

You can try again, but don't get your hopes up, since you got rejected couple of times already. Logic is that they usually grant expedite if petitioner is very ill or petitioner is getting deployed. I think that since you are US citizen, your child can be granted citizenship and get treatment in the US, if the mother agrees. Expedite request/response takes awhile, if your child has serious illness, this might be the best thing to do. It's a sad situation, all of us have our reasons, all of us wants to be united with the loved ones, but it is what it is.
