Maybe if Old Joe whispered "Don't Come", they would hear him.

An Unflinching Guide to Biden's Immigration Fiasco

The Biden team is certainly right that bad conditions in Mexico and Central America drive immigration. But it’s easy to show that’s the wrong explanation for our current crisis. The reason, as all social scientists know, is that “you cannot explain change with a constant.” What is constant here? Poverty, corruption, and danger in Mexico and Central America. Since those “root causes” have not changed over the past year, they cannot explain the dramatic rise in illegal immigration since Biden took office. What does explain it? The administration’s decision not to secure the southern border and to give up any serious effort at preventing illegal immigration. Migrants have gotten the message, and they are coming north in unprecedented numbers.

The media, always eager to protect their favorite political party, never asked Vice President Kamala Harris three crucial questions after her “root causes” trip to Guatemala and Mexico.

  • Can the U.S. really do much to improve conditions there?
  • Would relatively modest improvements have much impact on migration? And, crucially,
  • How long before these policies can have a major impact, if they work at all?

Back in the real world, the best Biden-Harris can expect is some small, slow improvements. Desirable as those are for humanitarian reasons, they would have no effect on migration for decades.

Meanwhile, the flood continues unabated. When the administration repeats its false mantra “the border is closed,” they should add the Monty Python phrase “Wink, wink. Nudge, nudge.”

So now the President is responsible for the stock market?  Btw, Socialism/Marxism has not completely taken over the political system in the US yet, but the Dems are certainly heading in that direction given their most vocal young leaders.

I just can not see the Arab nations buying in.

I grew up in the segregated  South of the 60 and 70's.  Schools were segregated when I started. My dad the local Doctor had segregated waiting rooms. Blacks truly were still in a form of bondage, kind of a murky quagmire between slavery and freedom. Blacks and Poor whites could be thrown in the county work farm for most any reason the local Sheriff decided. A lot of good people of both races paid heavy prices for moving forward equality, freedom, and equal protection under the law. In my lifetime I have seen so much progress toward a true color blind society. I myself came under fire in the Georgia Army Guard, for firing my EO NCO for using a racial slur, and appointing a black NCO Vietnam Veteran and working with him to address grievances in my unit. I have stood between Klansmen and counter protestors in Atlanta. So yes I have seen a lot of terrible racial practices in my darn near 60 trips around the sun. However I have also seen a lot of progress.

What scares me is that we are rapidly De-evolving in our goal to make America a color blind society.  It's almost as if we have turned the clock back 50 years, only this time, it is blacks moving us back to a segregated society, where everything is about race. Black only rooms in college student centers,  Whites being marginalized and told they are inherently bad just because of the color of their skin. Black only congressional clubs that openly discriminate against white members of Congress,  Federal funding for Colleges that are historically segregated and blacks fight to keep them that way. I have seen Whites have their careers ruined by one  thoughtless quip, but yet Black broadcasters openly call for Black only Olympic teams with hardly an eyebrow raised.

Only thing missing is Reparations, which must become life's sole priority.

U.S. jobs gain largest in 10 months; employers raise wages, sweeten perks

BY LUCIA MUTIKANI, REUTERS - 1:30 PM ET 7/2/2021TOP NEWS

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. companies hired the most workers in 10 months in June, raising wages and offering incentives to entice millions of unemployed Americans sitting at home, in a tentative sign that a labor shortage hanging over the economy was starting to ease.

The Labor Department's closely watched employment report on Friday showed 151,000 people entered the labor force last month, though the proportion of working-age Americans who have a job or are looking for one did not budge from the tight range it has been in since June 2020.

The acceleration in hiring suggested the economy ended the second quarter with strong momentum, following a reopening made possible by vaccinations against COVID-19.

"While businesses are still having a hard time filling positions, staffing challenges do not seem quite as dire based on today's pickup in payrolls," said Sarah House, a senior economist at Wells Fargo in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The survey of establishments showed nonfarm payrolls increased by 850,000 jobs last month. The economy created 15,000 more jobs in April and May than previously reported. Employment is about 6.8 million jobs below its peak in February 2020.

Economists polled by Reuters had forecast payrolls would advance by 700,000 jobs. Women, who have been hardest hit by the pandemic, took nearly half of the jobs created last month. There are a record 9.3 million job openings.

Wasn't Trump president in January? Didn't things fall apart 14 months ago?

At any rate it was absurd touting Trump as the jobs president, it's absurd to pin all the blame or praise on Biden.

Still,it looks like infrastructure week might happen after all.

Joe said these were all new jobs, so does that mean all the small businesses looking for employees are still looking.  Also, I would like to see a state by state comparison to see how the job gains compare in the states still dishing out federal unemployment money to the states that stopped that.

Jen Psaki: Professional gaslighter on defunding the police

Here's how bad things are: In New York, murders are up nearly 50 percent compared to this point in (pre-pandemic) 2019. In Atlanta, the murder rate is up 60 percent from last year. Chicago has recorded more than 1,900 shootings, a 53 percent increase over 2019. In Portland, murders are up 800 percent. Seattle is seeing its highest homicide rate in 26 years.

And over the holiday weekend, at least 150 people were shot and killed during more than 400 shootings across this country.

Those are just a few examples. But all have a common thread: These cities are all run by Democratic mayors.

This recent New York Times headline sums up the overall situation: "With Homicides Rising, Cities Brace for a Violent Summer; Homicide rates in large cities were up more than 30 percent on average last year, and up another 24 percent for the beginning of this year, according to criminologists."

Biden's fight for racial discrimination

Race is the guiding principle of Joe Biden and his administration. Biden has promised that if a vacancy ever opens up on the Supreme Court, he will appoint a black woman. He has no one in particular in mind; he simply wants to assure the country that he plans to disregard qualified nominees based entirely on their race and gender.

The Democratic Party, too, uses race as its North Star. That was obvious when various Democratic politicians lobbied Biden to make his Cabinet selections based on race, with California Rep. Ro Khanna admitting that he would have been more likely to oppose Lloyd Austin leading the Defense Department if Austin were white.

This discrimination is not coincidental or an innocuous side effect of Democratic policies. It is central to the party’s agenda. Its top priority is not helping the country prosper as we emerge from the pandemic; it is the toxic idea of “equity,” which demands that race be put at the forefront of any and all policy questions.
