He is probably right.  Just more politics for Harris to say she was there.  I certainly have no confidence in her or Old Joe's ability to do anything constructive in dealing with the problem.  I also notice she is going to El Paso, is that where the illegal crossings are occurring?

Probably not in El Paso proper (they're probably housing illegals there, for her photo op), but all around.  ELP is the westernmost "river" crossing; next port west is Columbus (N.M.) / Palomas, a land crossing.  Del Rio, downriver, used to be the most secure port in terms of fewest illegals, but now they're swamped.  The little ports between ELP & Del Rio are probably overwhelmed.  I haven't heard anything specific about Eagle Pass or Laredo.  Farther southeast, Roma is one that I've heard is inundated, and it's probably similar at Rio Grande City/Ciudad Camargo.  Even farther southeast are the huge ports at McAllen/Reynosa & Brownsville/Matamoros, and there are probably crossings happening around there.  Everyone is probably pouring in across private ranchland in between the ports and the wall segments, chiefly the single young men in camouflage attire.

 

A couple of weeks ago, I saw no signs of any illegals at or near Nuevo Progreso, a smaller port frequented by Winter Texans and other gringos.  The town protects itself pretty well, probably because they don't want to lose gringo business.

As Ted Cruz so aptly explained it, Chicago is closer to D.C. than El Paso is to the Rio Grande valley where the bulk of the problems are.  She'd be signaling the same amount of "virtue" if she were to visit Wichita or Colorado Springs. Perhaps even Denver.

In recent months, lawmakers in 24 states have introduced, and six have enacted, legislation banning public schools from promoting critical race theory’s core concepts, including race essentialism, collective guilt and racial superiority. Parent groups around the country have mobilized to oppose critical race theory in the classroom, arguing that it cultivates shame in white students and fatalism in minority students. According to a recent YouGov survey, of the 64% of Americans who have heard about critical race theory, 58% view it unfavorably, including 72% of political independents.

 

That’s a major liability for the political left. Sensing that they are losing control of the narrative on race, left-leaning media outlets have launched a furious counterattack. Liberal pundits at the New York Times , Washington Post, MSNBC and elsewhere have begun spinning a new mythology that presents critical race theory as a benign academic concept, casts its detractors as right-wing extremists driven by racial resentment, and portrays legislation against critical race theory as an attempt to ban teaching about the history of slavery and racism. All three charges are false.

The woke transformation of the military weakens the armed forces and the nation

 

In 2004, I felt compelled to join the Army and help make a difference in my country. After the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, I watched people I knew, my age and younger, leave to join the military. Every time I watched someone leave, I felt a passion growing inside of me to do the same.

 

At first, I was nervous. The US military had been in Iraq since 2003 and there had been non-stop combat coverage on the news for a year already. It was inspiring and frightening at the same time. Deep down though, I knew what I needed to do. So in February 2004, I packed my bags and headed to Fort Sill, Oklahoma, for basic training.

 

I served in the Army for eight years as a 13F (Forward Observer). It was one of the best jobs I've ever had and I'm proud to have served when I did. The military was still tough. We were in two wars and constantly in need of more recruits. Over time, I went from being a private who needed all the help in the world to becoming a staff sergeant responsible for training new soldiers to serve in Iraq and Afghanistan.

 

All these years later, it's disappointing and disgusting to see the turn our military has taken. Each branch seems to be in a new war: who can out-woke the other by posting "inspirational" heartfelt recruitment videos pushing an LGBT agenda within the ranks. Meanwhile, Russia is posting recruitment videos meant to instill confidence and inspiration in their military forces—a huge contrast and dangerous considering the times we live in.
