Fixxored, where I have I heard that term of phrase???

Probably here on this forum.  I know a guy who says it all the time on a boating forum I am a member of.  Kind of annoying how much he uses it, but it sticks in one's head I guess.

Does Chauvin not get the opportunity to reform in prison as well?

Ex-cops don't have a guaranteed life expectancy in prison.

Even more the case with child-molestors.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Maybe the problem is with the prisons then?  Shouldn't they protect the people they have in their custody?

Most prison systems probably don't have the personnel in enough numbers or with enough motivation to protect any of their "clients."

Fixxored for you.  In case you missed the tox report, Floyd died of a self-induced Fentanyl & meth overdose.  Imagine for a moment (if you are able) how little this case would have been made public, had Floyd just cooperated and NOT swallowed his illicit drugs to try and hide them from the police?  He would have been arrested, perhaps gone to jail, perhaps gone to trial, but he would STILL BE ALIVE.

I don't care for Chauvin's actions that day any more than anyone else with a sense of human compassion, but he did not murder Floyd.

I'm sorry that you disagree with an actual judgment from a court of law. Chauvin is a murderer, and was judged to be a murderer. He is going away for 22.5 years. In your head he's not, but that doesn't mean anything in reality.

Also, Floyd did not die of a "self-induced Fentanyl & meth overdose." (If you are going to point out my typos, I call your attention to the fact that "fentanyl" is not capitalized.) This was determined in court to be untrue. He died from a lack of oxygen caused by Chauvin cutting off his ability to breathe. Floyd did not have enough fentanyl or meth in his system to kill him. This has been discussed many times.

There is an excellent rundown of what actually was determined in this USA Today fact check article. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/factcheck/2021/04/21/fact-check-george-floyd-autopsy-ruled-his-death-homicide/7317557002/

Using USA Today and fact check in the same sentence seems wrong.  Mind you this is not a comment on the thread discussion, just the fact that a mainstream media outlet has a hard time actually conducting adequate fact checking.  As to the actual issue at hand, yes, a trial found their conclusions, and believed the prosecution experts over the defense experts.  Chauvin has been sentenced with what the judge felt adequate rightly or wrongly, and it is a done deal unless Chauvin's attorneys file an appeal.  The grounds for an appeal may or may not persuade an appellate panel, we shall see.  In the end, Chauvin screwed up and he will pay for it probably with his life at some point in the future.

A jury of Chauvins peers did the fact checking, USA today just compiled the data.

It was interesting that the fact checking was completely one-sided.  Like I said, I am not disputing the trial outcome, but fact-checking by Leftist media is a joke.

USA Today is Leftist now? OMG I needed a laugh, thank you.

If the facts all point in one direction, why do statements that have been proven in a court of law to be factually incorrect beyond a reasonable doubt need to be stated? We don't disseminate untruths just so things can be "fair and balanced."

Right wing thinking is rational and unaffected by emotions ergo right-wing thinking is the truth and conflicting views are flawed or deceptive ergo right-wing media the true median between right and left and "centrist" publications ergo USA Today is leftist propaganda...see it's easyif you think logically!

Umm, yes.  Like I said, I did not disagree with the trial, but the Leftist fact checking by a Leftist outlet is pretty telling.  It is either that, or the journalistic standards have sunk to a new low.  If they really wanted to fact check, why focus on silly social media drivel, and fact check the experts on both sides.  You do know the world does not revolve around FB and Twitter right?

Again, this seems to be a prison problem - if they can't do their job, then they should find solutions.  Release non violent offenders?  Hire more guards?  Work more efficiently?  I don't know.  Should the courts stop prison sentences because they can't handle it?  Really?

Don't repeat untruths. Repeating doesn't make them real.

I read the actual toxicology report on Floyd, not the claptrap you have tried to pass off as truth here.

Floyd had 11 ng/mL of fentanyl in his body.  3 is a lethal dose.  Unless you are really bad at maffs, then surely you can see what Stevie Wonder can?

Floyd also had blockage in his arteries, likely due to his obesity.  Doesn't mix well with drugs.

The actual cause of death from the autopsy reads:

Baker listed in his autopsy that Floyd's death was the result of  a “cardiopulmonary arrest complicating law enforcement subdual, restraint, and neck compression.” Other significant conditions were listed as “arteriosclerotic and hypertensive heart disease; fentanyl intoxication; recent methamphetamine use.”

Notice, he did NOT die from neck compression.  His CA complicated the subdual and neck compression, not the other way around.  Werds mean things.

I have repeated ZERO untruths.  Repeating the truth won't change anything, except to keep the facts clear: Chauvin was convicted because he was white and allowed a black thug to die on his watch.  While it is a sad state of affairs, Chauvin did not kill Floyd.  It has been shown time and again that the neck compression does NOT restrict airflow.

However, having THREE TIMES THE LETHAL does of fentanyl in your body, COMBINED with methamphetamines, does mess with one's breathing.  Don't believe these facts?  Try it yourself and report back here.
