My 1-601A was approved and got notice on 07/26/2019  after that I assumed I would be waiting for my  appointment for my interview at Cuidad Juarez? It's been more than a year now and I received an email from NVC on 2/12/2021 stating that they never received my fees and documents they required but my lawyer sent everything over to them. And if I wished to continue with my case to I had to complete the form sent to me and would have to resubmit all required fees and documents in order to continue with the immigrant visa process. Has this happened to anyone? My lawyer said they would email NVC saying it was out of my control due to covid that I was unable to move forward with my case. If anyone has any insight on whether this is normal please let me know?

You know for certain that it was paid, I wonder what your Lawyer has been doing in nearly 2 years.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

I completed my biometrics and paid all required fees. When they asked for more evidence for my provisional waiver to be approved I submitted all paperwork and was approved in July so not sure what the letter means?

Okay, first thing you should do is respond to that letter, or call the NVC, to let them now you'd like to continue with your case. Do that immediately!

Next, ask your lawyer where your case case is at.

The process is more or less like this

  1. Submit I-130, and wait for approval
  2. Case is sent to the NVC an a case number is created. It starts with CDJ###########
  3. Login to NVC website to pay IV and AOS fees
  4. Submit I-601A to USCIS, and wait for approval
  5. Submit DS-260 online form to NVC
  6. Upload documents to NVC
  7. Case is Documentarly Qualified/Case Closed
  8. Visa interview is scheduled in CDJ

Reach out to your lawyer and ask him where your case is at.

The DS-260 form could you tell me what it looks like? I don’t remember filling that form out. After my 601A was approved my lawyer asked for paperwork and I sent everything over. And was told to wait for my interview date Then covid happened and hadn’t heard from nvc Till February when I received that notice by email. I contacted my lawyer and he said he would contact nvc but now I’m wondering why I received that letter and if my lawyer is doing everything correctly on my case.

It looks like your lawyer has not send or upload anything to nvc. when nvc has your case they send you a letter by mail and a email as well, if they have your email.talk to your lawyer it looks like he did not upload your files. The letter that nvc send starts with cdj(priority date here ) and numbers let me know if you have any questions

I contacted nvc and they stated that the last document they have is an affidavit of support from 2011. But I found a receipt for the fee I paid on the affidavit of support on October 2017. So I’m confused as to what’s really going on. I’m going to call nvc today to see what other documents and fees they’re saying they didn’t receive so I can try to see whether the lawyer sent them off or not. My question is would I be able to do my 601A and get it approved if nvc is stating they’re missing documents and fees?
