Hello! Spouse interview went well in China, F2A. She got approved and I am very thankful. Her visa came in the mail very quickly to but we noticed something.

In the email when it gave interview date, it had A number and started with 0. Example 012345678 but the actual visa only listed 12345678 no zero in front.

Questions.

1. Does this matter?

2. If it doesn't matter, when paying immigrant fee online, do I type it with or without the zero.

3. The case ID number also added a 01 on the visa too and there is no 01 in email. No clue what these changes mean.

Thank you very much everyone.

Use the one that results in 9 digits: https://www.uscis.gov/forms/filing-fees/uscis-immigrant-fee/immigrant-fee-payment-tips-on-finding-your-a-number-and-dos-case-id "If your A-Number is fewer than 9 digits, insert a zero after the “A” and before the first digit to create a 9-digit number. For example, “A12345678” would become “A012345678.”"

"However, please note the IV Case Number has two additional numbers at the end, such as 01 or 02. When entering the IV Case Number as the DOS Case ID, do not include the last two numbers. For example, if your IV Case Number is “ABC1234567801,” you would enter your DOS Case ID as “ABC12345678” (do not include the “01”)."

Thank you very much. So it is normal to only have 8 on the actual visa, ah.  Everything should be good now. Going to pay immigrant fee now. Spouse did not get an immigrant packet in the mail though with visa, think one of the letter said modern visa doesn't have packet? haha never heard of this. Thank you so much for answering, wish you well.

If she went through the electronic CEAC process then her “ packet” is all electronic ..
