If you have no heavy past, then hiring a lawyer is pointless. There are a guides on this forums for DIY..That's what VJ is for.

Save your attorney $$ and use it to pay USCIS fees.

that isn't even updated and has a lot of broken links. That's why hiring an attorney is not pointless as a simple mistake can result in issues for you.

My wife came to the US on an F1 visa about 10 years ago.

Updated to include?

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

Updated to fix all the broken links. USCIS doesn't keep the same pages for years. They update forms and use different URLs

The page is just for guidance. I believe there's a warning somewhere telling people to download forms directly from USCIS website. So just get the form names on VJ and head to USCIS.gov and download.....easy

Yes but if you are going to send someone to a page then make sure it is a working page that leads to the correct link. If they were just going to say don't follow the links then the links shouldn't be there at all. That confuses people who are not good with computers. Immigration forms and what to send isn't easy for people. Just read this forum and others and you will see the mistakes people make that costs them dearly. If you can afford to have an attorney look over the forms then that is what people should do.

Hi there,

i’m currently filling an AOS based on marriage and in many forms the are asking for parents informations. Only my mom appears on my birth certificate since my father is unknown. Do you think this could be a problem for me ??????

No.  You simply indicate unknown

YMMV

Hey,

Im currently doing an AOS and i have one question: do Affidavit letter need to come from Americans? And, can I for example ask to a friend to write one for me if he didn't meet my futur husband?

Thanks

Affidavits are desperation evidence.   Concentrate on other things

YMMV

Hey,

Quick question, we’re applying for an AOS from the US (we live in Washington DC) and i have a question regarding the field offices. We haven’t sent our papers yet but: How do we know in which field office our papers are gonna be sent??? Is it based on the location? or is it random ????

Everyone sends the forms to same location, Chicago, the sorts out the paperwork and sends them to the NBC and when it's time for the interview, the NBC sends to an office based on your zip code.

No, i’m not even talking about that.

What i mean is that i see on the USCIS website different field offices (california, potomac, nebraska etc...) and depending on where some forms are sent, it takes more or less time for them to be processed. How do we know where is it gonna wind up????
