Evidence of Terminal Leave

Currently have a IR1 interview scheduled for 10 May, this will be rescheduled as cannot make that date, hopefully to June (slots permitting) I am serving British Army and will be proceeding on various forms of leave running back to back from 26 November culminating in termination of service. Essentially my last day ‘in work ‘ will be 25 November which I will have evidence of and an official wet signed letter from my chain of command stating I am free to leave from this date. The info on the embassy website simply states the following

Military Records:  If you have served in the military forces of any country you must obtain your military record.  On the day of the visa interview you will be required to furnish either your discharge papers or evidence of terminal leave from the forces.

My question is would the above suffice as ‘evidence of terminal leave from the forces’?  I certainly hope so as there is nothing else I would be able to provide even on 26 November!

My wife (USC) and I both reside here and are aware of the 6 month to enter from date of medical etc and are trying to time things to move straight after I complete my last day in work to avoid having to move into temporary accommodation for however long!

I always thought that meant you had to be out of the military before they would issue a visa. You better ask that question straight to the IV Unit.

Did you have your interview at usa embassy in London? How long did it take to get the interview after all documents were sent?

Click his timeline. And make one for yourself so people can see where you are in the process and what consulate will process your visa.
