Hello all,

I had my interview on Monday and my visa was approved. I have also picked up my passport from DHL.

The thing now is I wasn't given any information about paying for a greencard. It didn't come up in the interview and I wasn't given a document for it.

So can I travel to the US without that payment? Do I pay once I get in? I'm just confused.

Looking forward to your responses...thanks

Yes, you may enter the US without paying the immigrant fee.  But if you want to pay before traveling, here's the USCIS page for it -- https://my.uscis.gov/uscis-immigrant-fee/

Congrats on the visa!

Hello. How long did you have to wait after being documentarily qualified? Just looking to know how big of a wait is ahead of us.

I was documentarily qualified by 1st of November, 2019. Interview was scheduled for March 31st 2020, then covid happened and it got cancelled.

Finally had my rescheduled interview on the 12th of April, 2021.

You can pay after you have arrived. The $220 is for them to send you the plastic card.  You can pay it at any time.

The earliest I have seen is about 3 weeks after arrival.  Sometimes, it takes a few months.

To pay the fee, you need your A number which is on your visa, and your DOS number which is your country filing number so it will say XYZ2020123456.  You can go online and pay the fee now before you arrive.

Thank you. Yea, I was worried at first when I got a mail to pick up the next day. Later came to read reviews and noticed a few others got theirs that early as well.

I got just 2 papers. One about my right and the second one with the dhl office to pick up. Guess I could have asked the co but I was too excited to think straight.
