You are under Administrative Processing at the embassy level. There is no time limit and the embassy will contact you once they have finished the AP. Contact will be either the passport returned with the visa inside, a call or letter to return to the consulate at a given date/and or given time.

Yes, Mary is right. Since the AP is over in DC, the Embassy should contact the visa applicant very soon. Contact the Embassy and let them know that what you have been told by Dept of State in DC.

My wife was not on AP or AR. She was issued visa on the same day. But I know lot of people who went through AP. Embassy will contact the visa applicant as soon as the AP is finally over from their end.

Mian inteviewed on 12/12/2005 and was put on AP and they did not contact him until May 04, 2006. A letter was sent for him to go back to the consulate with his passport on a certain date. They took his passport and mailed it back to him within a few days. Good luck.
